I was ref. to Dr. Pollack Through a trusted family member. After reading some of her reviews I was not sure what to expect honestly.
Dr. Pollack was straight to the point. accurate. precise. and possibly the most honest Dr. I have ever met. what she may lack on the surface in comforting bedside manner she makes up for tenfold with honesty, action, and above all else compassion.
I had a melanoma on my leg that she removed immediately. Without question and without pause, Dr. Pollack saved my life. I hope this review can in some way honor the incredible kindness and caring I received from Dr. Pollack and her Receptionist Rita, for which I am forever grateful.
If you are in need of care, and a Dr. that tells the truth,
look no further.

I have been seeing Dr. Pollack for nearly 20 years. She is very matter-of-fact and thorough in her exams. I have NEVER even sat down in the waiting room, she is so punctual. She can do a full body exam, explain her findings and answer questions and you will be out of there within 15 minutes, yet I have never felt rushed. I have had basal cell lesions removed in her office quickly and efficiently. Recently, I had a lesion on my face and she referred me to a MOHS specialist, who was wonderful-the scar is barely noticeable after only 4 months! I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone! If you are looking for an excellent physician, Dr. Pollack is tops. If you are looking for personality, maybe not...

If your looking for an overly friendly casual doctor. you're not going to find her hear. What you will find, is a no-nonsense medical professional who is well trained, and won't hesitate to tell you to stay out of the sun, as well as, to correct any other behavior that may be detrimental to your skin or general health. I have been seeing Dr. Pollack for years, and her genuine concern is refreshing. I have never waited to see her, because she doesn't make appointments she can not keep, and spends as much time as needed for every patient.

I went to Dr. Pollack because I have been having a red face that was burning. I just lost my Mother and brother within the year. While telling her that, so she would understand my stress level, she was VERY dismissive. She also scolded me for wearing eye make-up, which had NOTHING to do with why I was there. I have 5 friends that are searching for a new dermatologist and they were excited that I was the guinea pig, and I will tell you, with her nasty, condescending attitude and lack of compassion or emotion, I would not recommend her. It is still a business, and a business needs patients who pay money . She will loose a lot of patients, if she doesn't soften her approach. Perhaps she should consider a job as a correction officer or a drill sergeant, this seems not to be her forte.
P.S. Too bad because her staff was great!

i haven't been to her yet. My oncologist recommended her but after the reviews stating she is a good doctor, no nonsense but no bedside manner, I simply cannot go to her. Doctors, nurses, dentists and even mean receptionists at their offices upset me very much. I am already stressed when I get to their offices, and I refuse to subject myself to this any longer. I am writing this hoping that doctors or dentists would read it and understand that a patient like me would rather travel very far for a doctor that is kind and also good.

I took my toddler to have a mole checked. While Dr. Pollack was able to sufficiently assess my concern, to say she lacked any bedside manner would be an understatement. She had a condescending and judgemental attitude that I found rather surprising coming from someone who works with children as well as adults. I would have found her to be more helpful had she delivered her lecture regarding my own sun exposure with less venom. Instead of gaining an additional patient, she lost two. I have no intention of returning nor would I recommend her. Of less significance but worth mentioning is the fact that her office is depressing and sadly in need of a face lift. It is also not designed with children in mind (odd considering she is a pediatric specialist) and is uncomfortably hot.

My daughter was losing her hair and was very anxious. The Doctor said it was from stress and when the stress was ameliorated, the hair would grow back which is what happened. It is exactly that no nonsense approach that helped relieve my daughter's anxiety. Dr. Pollack came across to me as someone who is really listening to your concerns and weighing the best possible solutions. She is taking you seriously. I have recommended her to co-workers.

I have to agree with the last review. While she is very knowledgeable, she has no bedside manner, is very curt and no nonsense. Not that I want a warm a fuzzy feeling when I see a doctor, but she does make you feel inferior. I am also looking for another doctor.

Although Dr. Pollack is very knowledgeable and never makes you wait, she speaks to you like you are a child, never smiles and has zero bedside manner. I went to her twice, wanting to give her a second chance. I am now looking for a new dermatologist.
