Dr. Leffke has been treating me for BPH for 6 + years, as well as a rising PSA. I have had three sets of transrectal biopies and I can only say that he works with compassion, speed , and gentleness. I would highly recommend him for his ability, knowledge, and professional manner. His probing fingers are without equal.

Several years ago I had a TUNA procedure to shrink my enlarged prostrate. He indicated the success rate was +90%. I got an infection on the weekend after the procedure. I called their answering service. The doctor on call chose not to call me, but had the answering service call and tell me to go to the hosptial. After an examine he was called. He told them he would call in a antibiotic prescription. Several days later it was discovered I was prescribed the wrong med. That was money out of my pocket plus the cost of a correct prescription. The TUNA procedure was a total failure. Two of the 3 times I called for help I did not receive a return call. Dr Leffke showed me very little human compassion. On my last visit I told him things were about the same as when I first came in. He checked my prostrate and said things were fine. Without hesitation he suggested that I go to the University of Virginia for an additional opinion. His first passion is golf not patient welfare.

Dr. Leffke performed a lithotripsy procedure (to break up kidney stones) on me. He decided without my knowledge to use experimental medicine instead of the normal pain medicine used for the procedure. He did not tell me he was doing this nor did he ask if I wanted to be a part of this study. Needless to say I was in a tremendous amount of pain during the procedure and told the nurse and she said well thats to bad because we can not give you any more medicine. So I had to lay there and suffer through the procedure. Also Dr. Leffke is very rude and does not care. He told my mother after the procedure that it went great and I was in no pain. So I just want to make sure that everyone knows he is rude and does not care about his patients. Choose another urologist. Do not ever go to Dr. Leffke. I had this procedure done previously by another doctor and was given the correct type of pain medication and I slept through the whole procedure without any pain.

In my two visits, I found him to be arrogant and apathetic. After a few weeks, he gave up on me, and he claimed my problem would "burn out over time." The only two positive points were (1) he had an ultrasound done, and (2) he had the decency to offer me a referral to an urologist at the University of Virginia. In my opinion, you should invest your time more wisely by seeing another urologist - preferably one outside of Lynchburg. I've heard more complaints than compliments about the urologists at Seven Hills Urology...
