It is amazing some of the comments that I have read regarding Dr. Darrow. I do not usually post reviews, however after reviewing some comments - I feel compelled!! I started seeing him over 30 years ago as a young patient prior to marriage. He's been a counselor at times, he delivered both of my children (c-sections) and helped me through one miscarriage. I'm now beyond the children stage and moving into the dreaded menopause era. It is so comforting to have someone that knows me and my history to determine the right course of action. From my evaluation of responses that I've seen - most of the negative comments seem like a personality mis-match. If you can't handle a dry sense of humor, direct advice whether you want to hear the truth or not, then this may not be your doctor. If you want someone that will take the time to actually talk to you "in your clothes" (ha!) and be concerned sincerely about your health, is an expert in his field, then look no further. Honesty can hurt, but it could also save your life. The staff is wonderful. Amy - his nurse, is very caring. No one is thrilled to go see a gynecologist - but when you do, you want the best. Dr. Robert Darrow is the best and his credentials back him up.

Dr. Darrow has been my Dr for 10 yrs. He is one of the best in his field. He is truly a fantastic paitent advocate. With my 2nd pregnancy, I delivered unscheduled. The epidural scraped my spine, and I was leaking spinal fluid. The nurse laughed when I complained, and the hospital denied this issue. Dr Darrow came in the morning, and by 6pm My spinal leak had been patched. The last thing he told the hospital was it better be seen to that day. He took the name of the night nurse.
He cares about his patients, and listens.
I highly recommend him.

A FRIEND OF MINE RECOMENDED DR.DARROW HE WAS OK IN THE BEGINING BUT HE WAS ALWAYS RUDE , IT HAD GOTTEN TO A POINT THAT HE EVEN APOLOGIZED AND SAID HE WAS HAVING A BAD DAY. I GAINED A WHOLE LOT OF WEIGHT IN MY FIRST PREGNANCY AND HE TOLD ME THAT I WAS MOST LIKELY GOING TO HAVE A C-SECTION. WHAT I REALLY DIDNT LIKE WAS THAT ON MY DUE DATE I HAD AN APPOINTMENT AND THAT SAME DAY I WAS GOING TO HAVE AN EMERGENCY C-SECTION DUE TO A MEDICAL CONDITION AND DR.DARROW WAS DOWN THE HALL TELLING ONE OF HIS MEDICAL ASSISANT'S TO CALL OVER TO PRESBY TO SCHEDULE ME FOR MY C-SECTION THERE WAS PATIENTS WAITING SITTING DOWN ON THE BACK WHEN HE WAS GOING DOWN THE HALL TELLING THE MEDICAL ASSISTANT MY CONDITION AND ALL THOSE PATIENTS HEARD I REALLY FELT UNCOMFORTABLE AND ANYBODY THAT WORKS IN THE MEDICAL FIELD KNOWS THIS WAS HIPPA VIOLATION.

In 2010 Dr. Darrow walked me through my first pregnancy. I wasn't the easiest of patients due to irregular bleeding throughout the pregnancy that couldn't be explained, past the irregular cells on my cervix. Yes, he is direct. No he is not rude. If you want someone who is competent and who could very well save your life during this process, you should go to him. I am going back with my second because he is who I'd trust. He saved my life during delivery when I bled out more than normal. He is a skilled surgeon and had the hospital staff running around to make sure they did right by me and my newborn. I had to have four blood transfusions to bring me back to functioning and honestly, if it hadn't have been for him being talented and able to act under pressure, someone else could have allowed me to completely lose all my blood volume.

Dr darrow is the rudest doctor I have ever met. Im 19 weeks with my first child, and he has been nothing but rude every visit..except the first one...where he talked to me and the daddy..but ut all changed. He is insensitive, has no bedside manners at all..even had the nerve to tell me that because Ive gained 10 pounds I must want a c section! His staff has misweighed me twice because "students" work there at times, and have even misread my blood pressure. I would never recommend this doctor..ever

He is still a nightmare for me. I don't trust doctor after dealing with Darrow. I am a health provider and he tried to lied to me and it could had cost my life. I want to report him to the Texas medical board but I am leaving it to God. Thank God for internet access I did my own research and I told him what I wanted . I didn't care about his medical advice. I just wonder how many people are walking with invaded iud in there organ and Dr. Darrow simply said just leave it in or his nurse lying about falling out.

I was referred to Dr Darrow by a friend who swore he was the best, but I should have done more research. He is very rude. Straightforward, yes, tactful? No. But worse his staff is incompetent and very rude.I received phone calls about an abnormal pap smear, and that I needed to have a special procedure, but when I called to schedule an appointment, they had no record of anything like that on file. Also, they knew I had seizures from my very first visit, but waited until I was 31 weeks to suggest a maternal fetal medicine dr, when I showed hesitation about going, and asked why hadnt Darrow or my neurologist suggest this before, they threatened to discharge me if I didn't. The wait is always at least half an hour, they don't return phone calls, they lost one of my urine tests, and his personal nurse assistant always seems to have PMS. I would not recommend this Dr or this practice.
