If I could leave zero stars I would. My mother and I needed therapy to work on our relationship. She found Dr. Kovner (I chose someone else) and I agreed to see him with her. After a few weeks of going, I realized the therapy wasn't helping and he seemed very biased. He told me privately about his own issues from childhood which I thought was a bit odd but not alarming. He knew I went to church in the Norcross area but in a session literally said "You know what the issue with Christians is? To which he replied, "They are hypocrites".

Although this was incredibly offensive to me, I continued to go to the therapy sessions until one particular day I addressed his comment. He became very defensive and denied having made the comment. I ended up walking out that day and never going back. The whole situation left me feeling unheard and terribly disappointed. I went there for help and left more traumatized than when I walked in. How was I as a patient supposed to feel comfortable being vulnerable and exposing our personal family business when I knew this man was judging me based on my Christianity?

I have been nervous to seek out another therapist and my relationship with my mother remains unrepaired.

Amazing Psychologist — has effectively helped with post traumatic stress due to sexual abuse.He's been crucial in my development as an healthy adult, loving husband and caring father. I cannot recommend Dr. Kovner more.

Dr. Kovner was able to help my family get through one of the worst times in our lives. He is very thorough on his evaluations, followed up with numerous phone calls to see how we were doing, and my son is now doing much better in school. The entire experience at his office was like being in someone's home: very warm, friendly & inviting. Cannot recommend him enough, and he accepts most major insurance plans.
