His area of expertise is prescribing medicines; he is a certified expert. My needs are minimal, but necessary. When I run out or need something he is always right there to help. He has been a rock in my life. We seldom do much real talk therapy as it has been many years and my condition is chronic. But if I needed him -- he would be there and the times I have asked him or needed his help he is there. Yes, his heath is fragile, but his mind is sharp. He also is an MD who does not think a genuine health problem is a mental problem. He has been and is a wonderful doctor -- very understanding and on point with his observations.

I agree wholeheartedly with all of the patients on this page. I went to see Dr. Greenberg during my undergraduate years for anxiety and depression, and he threw drugs at me from the get-go without any discretion. I had been taking a low dose of zoloft as prescribed by a general physician and, after administering very brief diagnostic tests (about 10 questions each), he prescribed me high doses of Cymbalta, Ativan and Strattera. Although I had reminded him that I had already taken my dose of zoloft for the day, he instructed me to go home and take all three of the new prescriptions. After doing so, I essentially slept for 48 hours and woke up feeling like I was hallucinating. I went to Student Health, and the physician was appalled at the dosage and drugs that Greenberg had given me. Then, when I did not show up for my next appointment, Greenberg reported the "missed appointment" fee to an awful credit company who hounded me night and day. STAY AWAY.

Dr. Greenberg is a lifesaver. He's the most helpful and knowledgeable physician I've ever met. He is a low key guy. He does have a small (but clean) older office. He has had to reschedule me, but is so accommodating it's wonderful even when rescheduling. He listens and hears you. He's an intelligent, kind physician who I have, and will continue, to refer friends and family to. I'm grateful that I found him. - JAV. p.s. He treated me for ADD and depression. He worked with me until the medicines were adjusted to work perfectly or me. I've now been depression free for 10 years. He's the reason. I heartily recommend him.

May knows his stuff, but it's hard to tell because he cancelled most of my appointments -- he was sick, his mother was sick, he had car trouble, there was the possibility of snow. Does not have anyone covering for him while he's dealing with all his personal problems, which is highly unethical.

Staff is SO RUDE. When I actually meet with the doctor, he is fine, but he always cancels. Looking for a new doctor.

Dr. Greenberg listens well and gives great advice. He's also not quick to just medicate. He is delibrative about it and makes a rational decision after thoroughly listening.

Dr. Greenberg is a very nice man who takes the necessary time to really listen and he compassionately supports his patients, well at least this one.

He simply overprescribes. I came in, pre-diagnosed with ADHD, taking 10mg of Ritalin twice a day. I would complain about being tired, and hinted that while the drug worked, it wasn't really addressing certain issues. His response was to prescribe more, and more, and more... up to 80 mg/day, and even suggesting that I couple it with 36mg-54mg of Concerta. At the time, I didn't realize how unsafe and ridiculous this was... so I spent about 2 years taking upwards around 80mg/day... and now that I'm finally trying to clean myself, I'm obviously struggling with some hefty withdrawal/depression symptoms. || If you are looking for someone to prescribe you meds, he is your man. Otherwise, I would be very careful about trusting his recommendations relating to meds. He's careless... and if you don't realize that, you'll end up like me: in a real battle trying to clean myself of abuse and addiction.

This was by far the worst doctor I have ever seen. I went to see him while in the middle of a deep depression and in my first session he suggested that if I joined a dating site and socialized more, I would feel better (I was single at the time, and quite certain my depression was not caused by not having a boyfriend). He then proceeded to prescribe some old, schedule II narcotic that was difficult to get and when it made me feel worse, he suggested I take more of it. He then had me take Lithium and prescribed a dose so high I ended up in the ER because I was halucinating. At the recommendation of my new doctor, I went to Johns Hopkins to receive a med consult. The doctor I saw there could not believe the amount of lithium he prescribed and was surprised I could even walk with that initial heavy dose. This man was so awful I actually sent a complaint to the medical board.

Dr. Greenberg, quite simply, saved my life. Finding a Dr. you relate to is not always an easy thing, but with Dr. Greenberg I felt immediately comfortable. His assessment was thorough, his diagnosis was spot-on, and the treatment turned my whole life around.
