This is the only doctor in my life I have wanted to openly state my dislike of. She doesn't listen to me and downplayed my symptoms. I was in and out with her for weeks trying to eliminate the factor of if I had an ulcer or gallbladder issues. When I had a night of the worst pain of my life, I feared a heart attack even though it made no sense. I called her the next day to say I Googled gallbladder symptoms and it was a lot more fitting of what I was experiencing, plus my mother did her own research and said what I was describing was a dead ringer to what she researched on gallbladder. I even had gotten a second opinion who agreed concern of gallbladder. But then Callaghan essentially treated me like my research was invalid because I was trying to Google what I felt, and sent me home. Trying to get an ultra sound was like pulling teeth. She expressed concern when she listed off symptoms pertaining to gallbladder and I check marked yes for the majority of them, and then still tried to diagnose ulcer for three weeks. And a non emergency ultrasound doesn't sound like a good idea to at least eliminate those options? She went on about me seeing a Gastrointestinal specialist to confirm it wasn't an ulcer when I was pretty much ready to move on. It didn't take me very long to be convinced on my own it wasn't an ulcer. I ended up going to the ER when I had a third attack in two weeks, and they finally confirmed with a CT and an ultrasound that it was a gallbladder PACKED with stones. This was when I decided I had my last straw with Callaghan. The surgeon and I set a date today. This whole ordeal took a month from when I started to notice odd symptoms to now. Yes I'm going to you for the proffesional advice, but maybe listen to your patients because they actually know what their body is experiencing first hand. When I say something is wrong, somethings wrong. Even the ER listened to me when I mentioned the exact region and symptoms I had. I'm making your job easier by saying in detail what I'm experiencing. Make mine easier by actually helping me. I don't want drugs. I want a cure.

Dr. Callaghan has the gift of listening to her patients. I really appreciate her thoughtful diagnostic process in considering all treatment options or diagnostic tools to work through a problem WITH her patient. While her experience and expertise clearly shows through, she also has a kind heart. It is obvious that her patient's health journey matters to her.
