Was told, "A CT will confirm that it's a stone, but even then, if it's so small it doesn't show up on an xray or ultrasound, there's nothing I can do." Eight months of suffering and a CT scan ordered by a different doctor later, was told it was an 8mm stone and it's not showing up on the xray but suddenly it can be removed. Don't know what his stone removal is like yet, maybe he's a great proceduralist and just sucks at communication, but kidney stones are painful and I went through chiropractic, PT, and acupuncture for spasming psoas because I couldn't just live with the condition. I began wondering if it were all in my head. 8mm is not all in my head. I'd like to think it was a misunderstanding, but I asked him three different times in three different ways if a CT showing the stone would change his treatment plan and he said no, it would only confirm the presence and location of the stone.
