What a horrible experience! I wish I would have known to ask my OB if there was another option. Mean front desk. Rude medical assistants (except Mia). Quiet, and seemingly uninteresed, sonographers (except Gwen & Christy). Nurse was AWFUL. CINDY IS AWFUL!!! The office manager is just ... just as horrible as the rest. Tami may be the worst part of that office. Cindy & Tami together look more horrifying than Satan. Cringe-worthy! The doctor's bedside manner is lacking. No one tells you why they repeat your blood pressure 4 times or why they draw your blood. They have incorrectly billed my insurance EVERY time. They have a RN doing nutrition courses (not a registered, educated nutritionist or dietician). That same RN does this doctor's genetic counseling (not a certified genetic counselor). Can they even bill for that consult if the team is uncertified? Look around folks! Go to anyone else but her!

My OBGYN referred me to this doctor because I had slightly elevated blood pressure twice during my first trimester. When I called to make my first appointment, the receptionist informed me that even though I have insurance they will be collecting a significant amount of money before I even get to see the doctor. I explained that my policy works differently, and asked her to call my insurance. She said that regardless of what my insurance said, I had a deductible and would have to pay. Finally after several very aggravating phone calls (this is before I even made it to the office) the matter was settled. Then, when I showed up to my appointment, I saw the doctor for maybe 5 minutes. She came in, told me that everything was normal, scheduled some tests and told me to schedule a follow up in 4 weeks. When I asked her what my concerns and risks were with the blood pressure, and what I would need to be monitored for, she said that it is too early to tell, and I would just need to show up to my next appointment. She did not address any of my concerns and rushed me out. But this is not the worst part about my whole experience. At this visit they took a blood sample for my Penta test. No one explained how the test worked, and that the results came back in the form of a probability. The following week I received a called from a nurse in their office saying that my test came back positive for down syndrome, and I would have to come in and do a different test which has a more accurate reading. No one explained to me that the test just gives a probability and that it returns a lot of false positives. Needless to say, I had a small breakdown, and then promptly went online and researched all of this info myself. It would have been nice if the nurse bothered explaining this and actually gave me my correct result. There were other things that really bothered me about this office and their staff. For example, I am a heavier person, and the medical assistant ended up taking me to 3 different scales to measure my weight, emphasizing that they only had one scale in the office which was designed for a person as large as myself. I know I'm heavy, but really, do you need to rub it in, especially to a vulnerable pregnant person? Overall, I do not recommend this practice, and I wish that my OBGYN, who I absolutely love, would refer me to someone else.

The scheduling at this particular location is awful. Wait time is typically 1-2 hours after your appointment time. The office manager, Tami, is crass. The nurse, Cindy Laskowski, is pretentious and uneducated. Most of the medical assistants are cold and inattentive. There are a few nice people, but only a few. The doctor has a terrible bedside manner. She missed a cleft lip and palate. As I understand, this is easy to diagnose (especially with serial visits). Beware. There are other doctors that do what she does. Search around. There are options!

Dr. McFarland is the best MFM doctor in San Antonio. She's very professional, very educated, and sincerely polite. Her front staff is very friendly and quick with getting my chart up.The sono tech's are very gentle and friendly and her nurses are very informative and nice. Although this office is very busy, I don't mind the wait because Dr. McFarland is the only doctor I want to see for my pregnancy. She takes the time to answer all of my questions and to me that's what makes a great doctor. My baby and I get the best care here.

Staff is very rude. Dr McFarland gives off this fake handshake like she really doesn't want to touch your hands. She claims I have a clot but won't give me the dimensions of it then when asked again she claimed the clot wasn't significant any longer. She stated I had a small size baby because the weight at 26 weeks was 1lb 11 oz. I asked her for the percentile she wouldn't give it to me not would her staff. Came home and researched it and discovered that at 26 weeks a fetus should weigh 1.68 lbs which is 1 lb and 10 oz so my fetus is within normal but she just wanted to scare me. Not going to my next appointment I will be getting a second opinion because there are too many inconsistencies with the entire staff and they are playing with the health and we'll being of my child.

My first appointment there I had to wait one hour. The staff at the front desk was rude. When I got to see the doctor she was pretty quick. The second appointment was the worst. The nurse just came in the middle of my ultrasound and start screaming at me. I felt like crying. She kept asking me why my bp was so high. I never felt so violated like this before. The doctor came in later and was very nice to me. I just wanted to walk out. This is the worst office I have been to.

Horrible experience with this Dr and staff! My husband and I waited over an hour for our 1st appt.Once we finally got seen,a terrible nurse brought us into a office room and told us all the risks of down syndrome and other disorders. Her bedside manner was awful, she has me crying and petrified. On my next visit,we waited 2 hours for our ultrasound. The nurse came in and completed the ultra sound and then they left me(6 months pregnant)laying on that board of a table with all that goopy ultrasound stuff on my belly for over an hour waiting for the Dr.I finally got up and left and no one noticed!
