I saw Dr. Mims for a second opinion regarding a root canal. Another endodontist performed the root canal nearly a year ago and the supposedly "Dead" tooth is still painful. Neither my dentist nor the original endodontist could figure out the problem. I walked into Dr. Mims office expecting to set an appt. for an evaluation, but instead he worked me in within minutes. All it took was one X-ray and one look by Dr. Mims, and he diagnosed the problem and issued a resolution. Unfortunately, I have to see an oral surgeon for resolve, but at least I get to keep my tooth. He and his staff were very kind to me.

Dr. Mims was very unprofessional. He did a root canal on the wrong tooth and said it was my fault, slinging his clipboard across the room as he screamed at me. He then took an x-ray of my whole mouth and discovered the abcessed tooth (which was on the other side of my mouth - I was experiencing something called "sister pain") So he did a root canal on the second tooth, put in a permanent filling before the infection had cleared. My face swelled up, he would not fix his mistake (not that I really wanted him to at this point). So I had to go to an oral surgeon (who was WONDERFUL) who had to lance my gums in order to drain the infection that had swollen to the size of a grapefruit on the side of my face. I missed two weeks of work AND Dr. Mims sent me a bill for BOTH root canals. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy.

Very modern equipment and is as painless as can be for root canals. Good staff and very knowledgeable in his field. He appears to be very respected by other dentists.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Mims! He ONLY does root-canals and he is the best you could hope for. Very thorough examination and detailed explanation of your condition-- The most painless shots imaginable and a most attractive office. His staff are pleasant and helpful as well---If Marcus Welby had been a "dentist" he would have acted/practiced just like Dr. Mims!!
