I found Dr. Hehn to be one of the nicest doctors I have met. He sat down with me and talked to me like we were friends. However I am now finding from other specialist of urology that his thoughts and advice to me are simply way out dated, and wrong. When i asked him what caused kidney stones, he said lots of things, we really don't know. When I asked him the possible treatments to rid the stones, he told me that you can drink lots of water and thats it, with the exception of surgery. That seems to be way outdated information. Im now told by another specialist that the stones can be blasted out with sound waves, non invasive, non cutting procedure where nothing goes into the body. I saw dr Hehn several times over a couple of years for the same problems.. .he always gave me the same answers. Drink water and they will pass. Now, Im told that in fact they can do a 24 hour urin test and find out the cause of my stones to prevent them in the future. Are you kidding me? Nice is just not good enough in this ever changing world of medicine we live in. While he did nothing to hurt me or make my condition worse, he did nothing to address the problem, or help prevent it from returning. I would have to say no more returns to his office for me.

This doctor was seen to evaluate for prostrate cancer. He did the biopsy in his office and offered us books to read and make a decision as to the best treatment plan. He recommended a radical surgery done in a very antiquated manner that has been abandonded because of the severe side effects. He was not helpful in explaining the various treatments, only suggested we buy a book and read about it. I strongly suspect his knowledge is average or above average even if it is bit old fashioned and somewhat outdated
