My daughter was brought to see Dr.Brar by her mother against all my wishes and constant battle against his using and abusing my daughter who was 13 years old at the time. Dr. Brar prescribed my daughter many many unnecessary narcotics for his own well being to get her hooked on his drugs and made to return to him to obtain more. My daughter was a perfectly normal teenager with a bright future, she was president of student council at Weddington middle school,an all star athlete, and involved in numerous extracurricular activities before being brainwashed by Dr. Brar and her own mother as major cause of my wife and i's divorce. I made an appt with Dr. Brar to have him explain to me,her father, the reason behind prescribing her 10 different kinds of Narcotics at such an early age. Dr. Brar, being the lying, drug pushing coward that he is,excused himself and said he would be right back. Instead, the phony coward, hiding behind his PHD,sorry excuse for a man,ran out the back door, got in his car and left the premises only to have his receptionist come back to me in his office and lie to me that he had an emergency and had to leave. Dr. Brar would see my daughter Erica for 5 to 7 minutes a session only to write her prescriptions. With absolutely no concern for her well being at all. I wrote letters to the medical board, the state Supreme Court, and my insurance company,Blue Cross and Blue Shield to try to save my daughters life. They all denied my requests by I was told I didn't have a PHD. I stated to them all that maybe I didn't have a PHD,but I was her father, and i loved my daughter Erica very much, and I knew she was spiraling downward quickly after being treated by Dr. Brar. My daughter Erica died on October 28th 2010 from a drug overdose of prescription pills. I beg of you to not have to live the horror that I have had to since the passing of my beautiful, kind, sweet, and innocent baby girl. This dr. Is a monster feeding off the young and innocent,he should have his license revoked and be crimininally charged with murder!! Please Please keep your loved one away from this coward of a man,he is a liar and a fraud!! I hope that you will accept my warning b4 it's too late as it was in my case. Sincerely Ericas Father!!

I hated him when I first started seeing him. I felt like he didn't listen and was a rude know it all. Several times I thought about finding another Dr but its always hard to switch Drs with a long history of mental illness. I stayed..... Now my opinion has completely changed. After around 7+ years seeing him, he knows me well enoughbto listen to my suggestions and concerns. At first , I felt like he thought I was just looking for drugs so never listened ( a lot of people do fake just for medication). I now see him every 3 months, he will adjust to 4 months if I can't make it (so the person who said he doesn't ,is false) .He had also offered to drive my prescription up to me if I couldn't get to him...he's 40 minutes away but works some at a hospital about 10 minutes away. If you find him abrasive...give him a chance! One you establish a trusting relationship with him he is invaluable. I lived 5 minutes from his practice so in the beginning it was convenience but I'm 40 minutes away for the past 5 years and its still well worth the drive...even for a 10 minute appointment!

Dr. Brar was curt to myself and my daughter at every appointment. He made my daughter feel like and idiot and was very sexist with his advice. He gave her a medication that made her sick and he told her to take it anyway. We left his practice after about 6 months and when we went somewhere else her new doctor thought his ideas were ridiculous. She noted that all meds have side effects but she should try another. On the new meds all her side effects went away still helped her ADHD. The man cannot check his ego at the door.

we never even got to take family member to appt. Dr. refused to see as he was previous patient that quit coming, even though we expressed concern of possibly harm to self & others. Despicable man - DO NOT waste your time on him

I went to Dr. Brar for over a year not realizing that not every psychiatrist is like him. My sessions were LESS than 5 minutes and he cut me off almost every time I tried to tell him how I was feeling. I was taking myself off of the medication he was giving me because I didn't feel like myself. When I expressed this to him, hoping he would consider another medication, he told me that i "should keep taking the medicine" because i am "stuck with depression and therefore stuck taking it for the rest of my life". I would definately agree that his sessions are strictly prescription writing events. I do not believe that he cares nearly as much as he should about his patient's well being and is more concerned with what he sees as a quick fix and something to get the patients in and out of his office quicker. I will never go back to him and would never recommend him to anyone.

Told me he doubted I would get better after I questioned a medication that wasn't working. Told me to listen to him and started yelling at me during a session. Openly discussed patients with the staff at the front desk, making crude comments about them and mocking them. The worst most unprofessional, degrading doctor I have ever witnessed in my life. Bragged to staff in front of crowded waiting room about his mansion in the Palisades. . .surprised he still has his license, Major HIPPA violations as well as verbal abuse to vulnerable patients.

Dr. Brar is very professional- he cuts through the BS and gets to the point. Lots of doctors will be overly tender and try to coddle their patients and lose some of their ojectivity by becoming to intricately involved in their patients worlds. Remember most depressed or ADD/HD people are wonderful at masking and hiding what truly is the core issue-that's where Dr. Brar's expertise comes in- he is a true profession- he is objective and direct and he really knows his business. I was a very reluctant patient... didn't believe in meds or that I had a problem-figured I woudl just tell him everything was just because of timing-blah blah blah- when I was done talking, he asked me very precise and specific questions- and got right to his prescription. I had side effects at first he was honest with me about them saying that they came with taking the meds-but it was a choice of dealing with them or going off med- now I have no side effects and I am highly functioning- Thank Goodnessfor Dr.B

STAFF IS HORRIBLE AND VERY ARGUMENTATIVE. THERE IS VERY LITTLE CONCERN FOR PATIENT WELL-BEING. YOU CAN GET NO DRUG REFILLS IF YOU DO NOT RETURN PROMPTLY EVERY 3 MONTHS. NO EXCEPTIONS. IF YOU ARE OUT OF TOWN, TOO BAD. MD AND STAFF SHOW NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER IN THEIR PATIENTS,THEY SEEM ONLY TO CARE ABOUT GETTING YOUR INSURANCE BILLED AND COLLECTING YOUR CO-PAY.
