The only positive thing I can say about his practice is his infusion nurse and front desk person are nice and personable. I've gone to him for 5 months now and already have plans to switch to a new rheumatologist in 2 months. He treats rheumatoid disease more as "arthritis" and ignores all the other myriad number of symptoms and conditions that go along with autoimmune diseases. Other people have mentioned he is stand-offish and I certainly agree. He doesn't listen well and brushes off any attempt of self-advocating by a patient. Having had rheumatoid disease and other subsequent illnesses for 8 years now, I've learned to do my research, educate and advocate for myself respectfully. I always come prepared to visits with notes in hand. In my attempts, he brushed me off and rolled his eyes. Many doctors are offended by this but that is on them, especially those who refuse to keep up on the latest medications / tests / and other advancements. Such is the case with Dr. Corbett. He flat out told me any info he receives on a particular new, advanced test for rheumatoid disease, he throws away / deletes it. He is too old-school in his ways, which also causes problems between other health care providers, another thing I've experienced. He doesn't always seem "with it" in appointments and sometimes seems confused. Definitely due for retirement. Thankfully my new rheumatologist is on board with the latest and actually just finished his residency / schooling in 2012.

Wouldn't recommend this practice to ANYONE with a CHRONIC ILLNESS!!! Chronic illnesses require attention to detail and open lines of communication; sadly the staff of this practice are absolutely terrible at both! They are the least punctual, very negative, unhappy people who seem as if they have to be there and don't want to be there! Medical practices must have positive , happy, knowledeable staff especially for the chronically ill that spend most of their lives in these offices. I WOULD NOT refer anyone to this practice and am actively looking for another specialist, but my options are limited!

I saw Dr. Corbett after seeing a different Rheumatologist that I couldnt stand. Im 23 years old and I have lupus. He has gotten it under control with the right medications. He is also working with me through my pregnancy (off of all meds) to make sure that "we're" doing okay. He comes off as a bit "stand-offish" but he is still a GREAT Doctor. My mom and my finance have both come with me to separate appts and they think just as highly of him. Everyone is different, so you can't expect every doctor to be the same. He does his job very well and I always leave the office feeling well taken care of.

Ihave been seeing Dr. Corbett for about 17 years. At first I thought he was very standoff-ish, however as I got to know him I have found him to be extremely helpful and concerned. I have also found him to be knowledgeable and well read on new and on going research. He answers all my questions and discusses with me what to expect from meds. I believe that the more researched you are on your own illness and the more prepared you are when you go to an appointment, the better you can get Dr. Corbett to help you.

I have seen several RA drs. and I really feel that I am getting good care from this dr. He keeps a close eye on my progress, or lack of progress, makes sure I understand my schedule for bloodwork, and that I am part of the care plan. I have not encountered the negative things that the other people have seen. I'm very please with him as my doctor.

This guy almost killed me. He took me off my coumadin 3 days before I was to have shunts put in mu kidney veins, but I had a stroke before they could do it..He said that was probally why. Also, he keeps me so high up on my dosage of coumadin that I have had serious hematomas twice. I since go to another guy, and regulate my OWN dose of coumadin!! He doesn't want to listen to concerns, and brushes you off..R U N!!!!

Dr. Corbett discharged me by saying my Arthritis is now "under control" and to see him again in 6 months. I got out of his office as fast as I could and am now in treatment with a different Rheumatologist. Dr. Corbett is "out of control"

Wish I had read the previous posts before going to Dr. Corbett.Being in practice for many years doesn't necessarily make a good doctor.Moved into the area and went to see Dr. Corbett for the first time, and he changed nearly all of my meds without reading my previous rheumotologists' report. This made me so sick I wound up in the hospital twice in two weeks, each time for 5 or more days.I would also agree with the "stuffiness" comment. The visit totally didn't feel right.I should have listened to my instincts and ran out the door the minute he started changing my meds around. Seeing someone new now.

My mother has beena patient of Dr. Corbett's for over twenty years. He has always been attentive to her needs; as well as keeping her daughter's abreast of her care. I highly recommend Dr. Corbett to anyone who is fighting arthritis.

Dr. Corbett can be nice but usually he is kind of stuffy, does not really explain thoroughly treatments or illness, even if you ask. He seems to get annoyed when asked questions.
