Dr. Milton is quite arrogant if you ask me. Sometimes encouraging, but generally disregards any opinions that she disagrees with. Typically is late for appointments, and acts as if she’s the better person in the room just because she’s the doctor.

Dr. Lana Milton really knows what she is doing and is up on all the latest medications. She has helped me tremendously with my condition and I would highly recommend her.

Seen Dr. Milton last in 2004. Best doctor for me. I asked for an african american and my psychologist found her. I am so glad. Being a foreigner and female she understood the problem of being different and distrusted. She had lots of understanding of adults abused for many years as children. as others have said she is an excellent diagnostican; the best I have met and I have been in/out of therapy since 1960s. If only I had met her then. she gave me lots of free meds since I had insurance but couldnt even affort the cost of meds. the most generous and consciencous doctor I have encountered (I think I am very understanding of that because I have had 6 operations and been hositalized many times for various things. Yet I have personally seen her be "tough" on patients she didn't feel did the hard work of getting better. I have seen her hospitalize difficult patients and still keep her appointments going. No she isnt perfect she keeps you late but she has given extra time free

She received a letter saying that my insurance lapsed. From that point, my scheduled appointment was dropped, would not return my phone calls that my therapist, disability insurance and myself made. I am assuming that I can consider myself a "dropped" patient. I am very disappointed because she is very knowledgeable and personable. She was very helpful with my care until she assumed that she wasn't going to get paid anymore.

I'm with the positive reviews. I was admitted to an absolutely horrible facility when I had a breakdown. My husband went to another facility where she was stationed and begged for someone to admit me there. She was the only one who responded. We met and I found her to be patient and very competent. Very much in tune to my needs and wanting to help others in my family. As for writing prescriptions, that is what psychiatrists do. They are medical doctors, after all. She did not dismiss me after 15 minutes. I had 45 to 60 minutes each time. My autistic son had a psychiatrist that displayed all of the negative characteristics that were attributed to Dr. Milton. I would throw him under the bus and sleep well after doing it. Oh, one more thing. Dr. Milton enthusiastically encouraged me to find a psychologist for ongoing sessions.

Assigned at MD at Cedars Medical Center, L.A. Always in a rush to meet the patient, and almost no open communication with the family. Failed to comply with insurance company requirements to complete paperwork, and office was not responsive to completing form via FAX transmission. If paying for services, not worth the ink of the pen. Consumer beware. Never received a return phone call. Inpolite in front of psychiatric patient.

Poor relationship with patient -- unavailable to discuss issues, then gruff and rude when speaking to people. ALWAYS late for appointments, then will take and make phone calls during aoppointments. Probably knowledgeable but such a trial in other areas that it is not worth the effort to find out.

I have seeing Dr. Milton for 3+ years.. I saw 4 other psychiatrists before her that were unhelpful. Her first diagnosis of me in the first hour she met me was more accurate than any one that has known me. We have continued on a path of awareness through the years as things have changed and she is always right. She is a rock in my well being. Her intuition is key to her prognosis and follow through. Please don't see her, as she is hard to get into and I want her all to myself :)
