Horrific experience; don’t waste your time, money, or sanity. I had been to the clinic several times before I even got to see the infamous “Dr. Harris.” The PA said how there were corticosteroid injections that could be offered for my neck and shoulders; or, a possible nerve ablation at the C7 region to help with my rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and the degenerative disc disease in my neck, stemming from my Ankylosing Spondylitis.

My appointment was at 2:30pm. I was called from the waiting room within 15 minutes, but did not see the doctor until 4:30pm. The PA came in and spoke with me for a few minutes and then said she’d be back with Dr. Harris as soon as possible, due to him doing procedures during the time of my appointment. After an hour and 15 minutes of sitting in the appointment room, unseen or even checked on, I searched for anyone who could answer me on how long it was going to be. Eventually the PA came back in and said, he’s still in procedures, and he will be in as soon as possible.

FINALLY, an hour later at 4:30pm, he moseyed through the door with the PA, only giving me 12 minutes of his time. He spoke in an uncaring, monotoned voice, without even saying hello or anything personable at all. He immediately started the conversation by saying he wouldn’t even consider doing any procedures, but instead of prescribing me “narcotics,” he wanted to start me on Butrans or Belbuca as a new pain management plan. He said, verbatim, “These are really safe drugs, without ability to get addicted or to overdose; and that even if a baby were to get into them and finish the package, they typically would not stop breathing.”

That statement alone made me rethink his credibility, as well as my faith in his plan. He also stated that they are not narcotics, or a type of opiate or opioid; and continually stated how safe they were with no chance of overdose. He talked in circles for 12 minutes about these drugs. Even after I explained my concerns about them, this was his only offer of treatment.

If you are not familiar with these drugs, Dr. Harris was entirely unknowledgeable of them and lied straight to my face. Not only will I not be trying either of those medications, I will never return for another visit to his office.

Over $250.00 for a two hour wait, followed by 12 minutes of lies. PLEASE, be careful trusting this clinic and Dr. Harris, himself. I’ve added some links to show you the truth about these drugs and that this man has no problem lying to his patients.

I would have to agree with the majority of folks here that Dr Harris may know what he’s doing but cares little or not at all about his patients. He told me my neck was fine. This after two fusions and 30 Years of dealing with neck and radiating extremity pain. Do yourself a favor and got to Knoxville if you need an epidural or any other treatment for final problems. He did give me an epidural but gave the shot 3
Or 4 levels below where the MRI indicated the problem existed. I have no idea why as the man won’t have a discussion with you.

Dr. Harris was very rude to me and spoke to me in a very condescending manner. My doctor sent me here after I told him that I would rather not get injections for my neck pain. The doctors and nurses at the Harris clinic kept asking me questions about pain meds, which was strange because I have never in my life been prescribed pain meds from a primary care giver. I was not there for pain medication, yet Dr. Harris treated me like a criminal and very disrespectfully. After 3 months of going here for all of the evaluations I saw Dr. Harris. he told me that my neck wasn't bad and it would heal. At my previous appointment at the Harris Clinic I saw Dr. Schott and when I asked she told me that my neck would not heal. After telling me my neck wasn't bad and it would heal Dr. Harris told me I should get epidural injections, which I declined because that was the whole reason I was sent there in the first place, because I didn't want to do the injections. He gave me no time to ask any questions and walked out. Now I am worse off than when I went. I am now so confused about my diagnosis. If at all possible go somewhere other than here. I will say that their psychologist, Cindy, is wonderful. But otherwise I would stay far away.

I've been seeing Dr. Dennis Harrie and his assistant Jennifer Jenkins for a few years. I haven't really like the place but it was close to my house. Dr. Harris lectured me on my weight and they're insensitive to real needs. I've never been prescribed pain medication from them. I did have cervical nerve burning done. The wait times are crazy., they're never on time and want to rush you out the door and not fully listen. The final straw for me to quit this place was when they told me Dr. Harris refused to injections for my back nerve pain w/o an MRI. Then they said they cannot find a place for me to have an MRI due to my weight. Right on the patient portal show Jennifer Jenkins ordering me a MRI of cervical areas w/o contrast. It shows the place I went to. I called them to confirm I can go there. I also found a 2nd place. They didn't do their due diligence in looking up my information and getting me help.

Went there for years and had my pain under control until the government scared the daylights out of the Dr., also he hired a new staff member that treats people as if they are addicts and selling drugs, I quit ... what good is a pain management Dr. that refuses to treat pain and treats you as if your a piece of trash, STAY FAR AWAY. The girls there are all nice polite and caring unlike some who don’t care for anything but $$💰💰💰$$

This is one place that loves to drive your bill up and up. They require you to see their physical therapist and psychologist. They also don't start helping you until your second visit with them and then their help is very minimal. I've been going to pain management for 11 years and just moved here. So my treatment requires medications and surgery. They were uncooperative with previous medical records and wanted to start me out on step 1 when I've been on like step 7 for years. This didn't help me at all just went backwards after years of treatment. The doc also has 4 nurse practitioners that can't do anything without talking to him. This makes the appointments take about 2 hours to complete. They got upset with me because I had my own psychiatrist and physical therapist and told them that I would like to see mine instead of theirs and they had a fit. It's all a money making scheme and waste of your time to see them. After 3 months of visits to the nurse practitioner, psychologist and physical therapist they still hadn't treated me. Run to another doc as fast as you can!

Had to wait 30+ minutes past my appointment time before I finally saw the doctor. However, that aside, no real complaints. Dr. Harris was nice, professional, and seemed knowledgeable.

Great Doctor. Tries different injections to help relieve pain. Is NOT free with pain medication and only prescribes it if tests confirm need. Caring and very friendly. Downside is you never get in at appt. time, long wait. Would recommend to anyone with true problem and not just a Drug seeker.

Um dr harris isnt too bad however the staff is just awful. Never in my life have i ever seen a nurse (the witch behind the window) be rude to the elderly. She was also very rude to all the patients, including myself. Add the (dis)courtesy to the 3 1/2 hour wait (yes i had an appointment) and I have to say i will never go back. I was also misdiagnosed and given medicine that actually made my condition worse. When I called back for a follow up (I had to go to ER for service) the witch was rude once again so i complained to her and she told me patients should be more honest with their doctors. LOL I've had it with this medical firm. on a scale of 1-10 i give them a negative 20.
