Dr. Marino is an amazing Doctor and great to work with It's kind of funny to me to read the very last comment. Because, hes not rude what so ever and he dose treat the Native people with respect and hes very kind. He was the one who started this program and, if he didn't care I'm sure he would not put the time and effort to help the Native people. The Native people have to understand that they are very lucky to have free heath care unlike the lower 48 It's sad to see some Native people take advantaged of that. I think the Native people should be more educated on health care and well to learn to be at there appointment on time.

I have been under Dr. Marino's care for over 10 years. From the very first visit, he has been patient and kind, explains confusing terminology so I can understand it, as well as being extremely knowledgeable. He is responsible for overseeing many, many types of cancer including the more common ones and the rarer ones like mine. The Alaska Native Medical Center serves the Native population of Alaska and he has helped many Natives, and their families, through the difficult process of dealing not only with the devastation of cancer, horrific treatments, but also often death. He is one of the most humane, caring doctors I have ever been involved with (and I am not young so have seen quite a few). I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone lucky enough to be eligible for his services.

This doctor get so busy that he seems not to understand a patient's experience and is under pressure to see more patients, and spending less and less time with each one. He is arrogant and rude, highhanded and dismissive, callous and judgmental of Alaska Native people, especially his oncology nurses. The doctor needs to learn to listen to patients and treat them with dignity and respect. Dispense pain medication when a patient asks for relieve from pain from cancer, Alaska Native Medical Center needs to put teeth in the need for change at this hospital to care for cancer patients. Patients have something they want to tell the doctor but they're not allowed because of this doctor's style to say what he wants to say." So the doctor does most of the talking, often alienating patients. Also he can not admit when cancer patients are dying.
