I've been fortunate to have had Dr. Littlefield as my ophthalmologist for years. Reasonable wait time, friendly, helpful staff, timely assessment/diagnoses. One early evening I called and left a message about "bright lights"...early the next morning a message saying I had an appointment with a retinal specialist and "DON'T BE LATE!!!" The immediate attention meant retinal laser treatment before I lost vision! - always grateful for the timely monitoring of calls and the high quality referral.

He just doesn't keep appointments. Last time, after an hour's wait, I finally had to leave without being seen. He also sees multiple people at once and often doesn't know which one you are - you have to tell him. Does gross examinations in the dark, unable to see your eyes.

I have seen Dr. Littlefield for 2-3 years since moving to Santa Fe. He is patient and knowledgeable, cautious in his diagnoses and has advanced equipment, compared to other opthalmologists. He found very early diabetic retinopathy by taking photos of my retinas, and referred me to a retinologist. He advised waiting for surgery on a cataract that has been developing for some time. His staff is courteous and professional. I have confidence in his advice and plan to continue using his services.

I love Dr. Littlefield - He and his staff were on time, polite, thorough and the remedy for my eye issue was perfect - and aspirin and eye drops. I would recommend him highly to anyone, anywhere, anytime!

The staff here are rude to say the least. Dr. himself is very old and slow. They also made me have a test that was not necessary as well as expensive, then scheduled me for the same test 6 months later. When I called to cancel that test, the receptionist was extremely rude and insisted I reschedule, which is when I sternly explained to her that I would not be having this test and nor did I need it. This just a summary of the MANY MANY problems I have had with this place!

I've seen Dr. Littlefield for 5 years and find him to be most pleasant and professional. His staff is always courteous and helpful. My only complaint is that is usually takes 2 to 3 months to get an appointment, but that only speaks to the level of satisfaction his patients have for him.

I've seen Dr. Littlefield for about three years now--regular appointments, age-related testings, and one emergency appointment. I've always been seen promptly and received the needed care. His staff is terrific--very efficient and practical about getting me in when there's a change or problem. I feel confident in the care I'm receiving and have found Dr. Littlefield very knowledgeable and approachable for any of my concerns.

My husband & and I asked for complete eye exams & gave 2 ins. Office apparently confused & set up exams consisting of lights shined in eyes & some questions. No drops, no measurements.Supposedly I needed immediate cataract surgery. A 2nd dr. determined cataract was just beginning & no need for surgery.Gave us prescription for glasses based on this info. Did not fill them because we didn't trust his capability. Our impression of him: hurried, borders on rude, wants multiple appts. for more money from different ins. Impatient with elderly lady who couldn't hear him.Long wait for little help. Office staff very nice, friendly, but seem intimidated by him--at least it seems they're always keeping an eye on where he is and what he can hear them say.

This wasnt an exam, it seemed more like a cattle call--and a very expensive one. Within 5 minutes of being examined I was being told I needed cataract surgery. There was no exam other than the light in my eyes & a few questions. No drops, no dilation, nothing. I had asked for a complete exam, but for some reason the office scheduled me for this shorter version. I had alarms going off in my head so I had a second opinion. After a complete exam with the dilation, I was told I had the beginnings of a cataract and that surgery would have been potentially dangerous at this time.

I've seen Dr. Littlefield for appointments and for an emergency. His staff heard me out, squeezed me in immediately, and he spent all the time needed to take care of the problem. He's very practical, clear spoken, and patient. His office staff is pleasant and helpful.
