I wish she was still in business. She retired so I found another doctor only to find out she had to move to another state.

I have been a patient of Dr Murphy for two years now. I went to her because I was unhappy with the diagnosis of my condition given by other doctors. She did a thorough study of my symptoms and a careful explore of my areas of pain and she came out with the right diagnosis and treatment. Murphy is an excellent rheumatologist tha I certainly recommend.

Dr. Murphy treats my husband and me. She is outstanding. My husband saw her for repeated gout. Dr. Murphy told him he would never have gout again. She knew exactly what meds and doses to use - a progressions of them - to rid my husband of gout. Now on maintenance meds, my husband has been gout free for years and can eat anything he chooses. Dr. Muphy is the only dr. he saw who could achieve these incredible results. He is pain free. We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Murphy.

She was cold and when I walked out of her office I was confused and upset.

Dr. Murphy is amazing. Her professionalism is obviously being misconstrued as a cold nature. Make no mistake, if you want the very best care possible, then Dr. murphy should be your choice. i have been a patient since 1991 and she has seen me through a 9 year remission as well as a recurrance.

I don't mind when a doctor doesn't shower you with false love and caring, but Dr. Murphy is just plain rude and cold. When my last rheumie passed away I had to find a new one and decided to give Dr. Murphy a try. At the time I was in a terrible flare and hardly able to stand upright. I asked her a simple question, "What can you do for the pain I am having?" She proceeded to tell me that she doesn't give medication out to people like me and that if I needed pain medication I needed to see a pain management specialist. I never asked for pain medication, she could have easily upped my prednisone dose, but instead assumed I was a drug addict looking for medication. What kind of rheumatologist doesn't treat pain? What kind of doctor is so rude to someone in obvious pain who has bloodwork, xrays, and a history to prove they have a reason to be in pain. NEVER would I recommend her, not even to my worst enemy. "I" have a little more compassion than that.

This doctor is extremely cold. She shows no emotion or compassion. However, this is not the only complaint. I went to her with hopes of finding out whats wrong with me. Every symptom I had fit the description of some autoimmune disease, but she blatantly told me she thought my problem wasn't in her particular field. Also I had asked what I should take for my horrible fatigue, and she told me verbatim: TAKE SOME VITAMINS. Really now? It seems it wasn't enough to care about a patient, let alone, read the patient's history. By the way, it turns out I have lupus, something she sees patients for. I'm never coming back to her again

While her bedside manner is unemotional, she is very caring. She listens, she discussed the facts and evidence of your medical conditin. She really knows her stuff and I know because I am a nurse and healthcare researcher.

Very cold and uncaring. I didn't feel comfortable with her at all. I hate to say it, but she needs some lessons in how to relate to her patients.

She does not have a warm bedside manner. My family doctor told me that she was good, but did not have good manner before I went. She did not want to see me again even though my ANA was 1:640 twice and my family MD was very concerned about it. Her office called me to tell me the labs she ordered were abnormal (even the ANA) but to follow up with my family MD and not to see her. I think true medicine where you feel that a doctor will try his best to help you and cares about your medical concerns has been lost to technology. Even if there is no cure for something, people live longer happier lives if they feel there is a support system including a doctor who will try to listen and help them and show compassion and interest in them as a human being. This was lacking on that visit and her office's follow-up phone call about the abnormal labs. Being the most knowledgeable physician without having a good bedside manner and attitude toward the patient does not equal a good physician.
