Dr. Shapiro gave my daughter prednisone for acne. she gained a ton of weight in a short period of time and as a result had awful scarlet red stretch marks on her hips and thighs and knees. when we went back regarding them her reply was that they were a side efect of the drug. Really...wish you had told us that! Also, did not appreciate the little pottery on the desk of receptionist that said, "ashes of something or other patients". Not realy funny.

When I first got dignosed my hypothyroidism, I was concerend about my long-term treatment options, she offers 1, Synthroid. The only reason you even go to follow-up appointments is for blood work, she keeps one hand on the door and bolts out of the office as if the building were on fire. She has absolutely zero bedside manner and should be sent for further training, for what I hope was once her initial desire to HELP PEOPLE!! She is cold and uncaring to the extreme!!!

I was referred to Dr. Shapiro for possible hypothyroidism by my PC doctor. She performed a particular test that said I was, although my TSH was in range. After putting me on 2 different doses of Synthroid, and feeling terrible, because I was now hyperthyroid, she discontinued it. Over the course of a year, she had me on 6 different dosages of Synthroid and I was constantly hungry, gained 13 pounds, and had joint pains. When I asked her nurse about trying a different medication ( Armor Thyroid), they refused. Dr. Shapiro is cold and has a terrible bedside manner. After the initial visit, she was always very fast as they were over booked. After waiting an hour sometimes, she would see you for 10 minutes. I have since switched to another endochronoligist who took me off of Synthroid, and am slowly getting better. All my hypothyroid symptoms are also adrenal fatigue symptoms, which I experienced after some extreme stress in my life. I couldn't recommend Dr. Shapiro to anyone.

Dr. Shapiro is doing a great job of treating me for both diabetes and a thyroid disorder. She is very up-to-date on treatment protocols and is willing to discuss treatment options with you and support shared decision making. Punctuality varies - sometimes pretty much on time, other times she have very long waits. Office & Med tech support is poor - difficult to reach to get test results, they call the wrong numbers, can take 2 weeks for results. Difficult to reach to get appointments or return calls - they have the phone routed to the answering service for all but about 4 hours/day. And the answering service won't take messages!

Could not recommend this Dr. to anyone. Really doesn't care about how you feel, purely goes by bloodwork--in which case it seems to me--why even see her--just get the labwork and get a prescription. She is cold and a very unhelpful Dr.

I used to work for Dr. Shapiro and Dr. Brown for 3 years. They are both extremely knowledgeable and well trained doctors. That being said, their bedside manners are horrendous. Dr brown is rude and arrogant, and Dr. Shapiro is not much better. They double and triple book their patients and are always in a rush. If you can get over the long wait and quick (snappy) visit you WILL get great treatment. Some people go to the doctor looking for someone to understand them - if you are one of those people this is not the office for you! If you just care about good treatment, you'll be happy. Not sure about the office staff now, but a few years ago the nurse was Vicki Orin - who was excellent. Office manager is a very nice guy. The office sees between 50-80 patients a day and the wait for a new patient is a few months.

I won't say Dr. Shapiro is the worst, but she definitely needs to learn how to slow down and actually "see" her patients and put all the pieces together. She comes across as uncaring and pre-determines without the facts. I cannot recommend her.

Since dr Brown is not accepting Aetna insurance I had to switch to dr Shapiro. This morning I had a first appointment with dr Shapiro and as far as I am concerned it was the last one. I don't want to see that woman ever again. She was rude, inconsiderate, and with her comments that people like me are just abusing the health system she brought me to tears. I have several chronic conditions and I've seen my share of doctors. I've never heard a single rude word from any of them. Still crying and shaking, I asked to talk with the office administrator and complain about dr Shapiro conduct. I don't think he cared much. I will try to forget this incident, and I hope that this review (together with others that are not positive either) will help others to make informative decision about visiting dr Shapiro.

When I started seeing Dr. Shapiro i was seeing her office partner at the time Dr. Jeffery Brown who I LOVED...he was the best. But Dr Brown stopped taking my insurance for reasons i totally understand so i was switched to her. Ok maybe her thing is more or less diabetes...because i have seen good reviews from diabetic patients. But if your suffering from thyroid disease like me shes pretty worthless as a physician. After waiting (which i dont mind if im getting good care) i saw the doctor for about 10 minutes. Just long enough for her to look at my chart tell me im "in range" and order blood work. I dont think ive ever seen the woman smile. You feel like a number and even an inconvenince at that. Shes never has time and never even asked how i was feeling on my meds. When I offered up that i was feeling a decline in my health after she adjusted my meds to a lower dose she continued to reduce my levels so i would be "in the numbers she wants to see". Doesnt seem to care much.

She has the worst bedside manner for a doctor. This is coming from someone who has seen many doctors over the last few years due to family illness, not just my own.
