When I showed up for my appointment, the office staff had no record of me at all. They seemed convinced they'd never contacted me, so I showed them on my phone that I'd received a call from their office. Told me I could come back in a month or so. The staff were cold and strange, and so was the waiting area. I got out as soon as possible. Went downstairs to the urgent care and they were amazing. After reading about the doctor's legal and professional troubles, it seems like I dodged a bullet.

I sincerely love her. She quickly assessed my condition and we have a treatment plan. I am so happy. She can't "heal' my illness but she has made living with it and slowing the progression much more understandable and 'do-able' for me. I can now try holistic options as well. I was very impressed and so was my husband. Sometimes we as patients get frustrated when we are hurting and we want someone to fix these conditions. There is not a fix. As far as her staff, I have had limited contact and my account has always been accurate. Hope this helps someone.

I did wait an hour to be seen, but I'm really glad I did . Dr. Scheinost and her staff are AMAZING . I realized the hour long wait was because the doctor spends so much time with the patient. She listened to all my questions and I could tell she was really taking it all and trying to figure out why I've been feeling so bad. Her staff was kind and seemed like they really cared about how I felt. I can't imagine going anywhere else for my healthcare. I was referred to her by several different people who all agreed. So glad I took their advice.

I had an issue with billing in that the EOB I received from my insurance company showed the office billed a surgical code for a new patient office visit. When I first called about the issue it was the last week of January, I was referred to an outsourced billing department. After several messages, the biller that called me back was extremely flustered and explained that they had gone through a software conversion and the CPT code was billed correctly, but the descriptor was in the system incorrectly and stated the insurance company must have paid off of the descriptor. I asked which code they used and she stated 99203. (I did later confirm with the insurance company that was not the code that was billed). I explained that I had a medical office management background and understood that the payors software systems are based on algorithms that pay from the numeric code, not the descriptor. She became even more flustered and I was then told she would refer it to the office manager and have her call me back.

Two weeks later, I had not received a call back, so on 2/16 I called and asked for the office manager. I explained what had happened and that my insurance had been billed for a surgical code (knee joint drainage) and it should have been billed as CPT code 99203, a New Patient Evaluation and that I had failed in my efforts to get it corrected. I also explained that my copay had not been documented with the claim, which would have alerted the insurance company that this was an office visit. Her reaction was very terse and first she tried to tell me that it had not been billed incorrectly. When I explained that I had already spoken to the biller, she then stated the biller had issues as English was her second language and she must have said what she meant incorrectly. She then told me I would need to follow up with the outsourced billing office again. She was quick to interrupt me during the call and seemed quite miffed that I would question their billing. I finally told her that I was not an average patient and that I understood how billing worked and that I would make sure this bill was corrected.

I immediately followed up with my insurance company to find that they had not yet received a corrected bill. I then asked them to get involved to help me get the bill corrected. I am aware they had left a couple of messages before they finally got a corrected bill which they processed on March 2.

The defensive demeanor of the office manager and her inability to answer my questions accurately led me to do a little research. I found that the physician and a prior office manager had previously been indicted for billing irregularities. Also of note, one of the physician rating sites show her practice to have one of the highest bill rates in the state of Texas when compared to other rheumatologists, even those in larger metropolitan areas.

Due to the issues I had with the billing, on March 12th I called to cancel my follow up appointment. That staff member that took my cancellation asked if I would like to reschedule and I said no, I would not be returning.

About an hour later the office manager called me back and asked why I would not be returning. I explained that I had a problem with the fact that it took a lot of my time and effort and me enlisting my insurance company in order to get the bill corrected. She again started interrupting me and became quite argumentative about the progression of the situation when I have dates and documentation. I told her it was not wise to speak to me that way but before I could finish she hung up on me. I just don't expect this kind of behavior from any practice that is 100% above board and would highly recommend that anyone who sees this physician watch their billing closely.

Made two visits due to positive ANA. I have fibromyalgia , osteo arthritis, osteoporosis & several other issues. Vitinin D level was low & the P A told me to take their vitamin D drops that insurance doesn't even cover & never with first or second appt was offerer any pain relief or something besides call us if things change!!! Not going back to make co pays after co pays only to be told my sugar levels & vitamin d level is my pain issue!!! Only second time I was told my vitamin d level was low in my lifetime & I've been in this pain for more than a decade!!!
My primary care physician is sending me to an endocrinologist because I have adrenal issues that they couldn't figure out!!! I wouldn't recommend this dr. They offer the same medication to everybody for RA Lupus, etc & undermine your pain & send you away with nothing & samples & expect you to buy their holistic medication that isn't even approved by the FDA & not allowed to try it before qmseeing if it will work first. I left both visits with nothing!!!

The office has been looking for (medical- not insurance-related) paperwork that they have apparently misplaced 2 months now and rarely ever actually answer the phone.

My mother is a patient of Dr. Nancy and I, as well as my mother, cannot say enough nice things about her. To find a doctor who is knowledgeable in their field along with someone who is compassionate and caring is rare. Dr. Nancy is that "rare find". My mother was a patient of another rheumatologist in town for several years and the difference between the two doctors is like night and day. When Dr. Nancy walks into the room, you have her undivided attention. She listens, explains, asks questions and you never feel rushed. She truly cares about her patients and gives them the time they need. Dr. Nancy's staff is also amazing. They are like one big family and they make you feel at home when you walk in. My mother will eventually be moving to The Woodlands with us but we will NOT be changing doctors. We love her! If you are looking for a rheumatologist, make an appointment. You will not be disappointed.
