I am a young 60's woman who went to Dr. Herzog a year ago after my regular gynecologist retired after 60 years of practice!!! I don't mind a man doctor, but I do mind not being told you're going to put your finger in my rear end and proceed with a pelvic exam while having me hoisted on your finger and making small talk about whatever unrelated to gynecology conversation we were having minutes before!!! He clarified when I questioned the discomfort and surprise "attack" that he could do a better and more accurate examination by doing this rectal exam. No other gynecologist/obstetrician had ever done this to me before, and I was extremely upset and offended by the lack of permission/prior explanation. He looked pretty creepy while he did this and I truly didn't buy his story, especially because there were absolutely no signs, concerns or reports that necessitated this kind of exam! Needless to say I do not want him up my butt again, and will never see him again. He might be experienced and knowledgeable in his field, but unprofessional, rude, and dismissive better describe him.

Very bad 2nd experience. Rude, unprofessional, unsympathetic, messed up my appointment, waited hour and half, inquired and got rude busy reply from nurse and doctor. Done. Not going back.

Dr. Herzog missed my breast cancer. Correct. Missed my breast cancer. I felt a lump and he didn't. He didn't order any tests, but told me to wait a month and get a mammogram and sonogram as it was probably cystic. What??!! Even if he didn't feel a lump, an MRI or sonogram should've been done immediately. When finally diagnosed two months later, I had late stage breast cancer. Knowing what I know now, a very different path should have been taken. It is shameful. And likely this dismissive attitude will ultimately cost me my life.

Dr Herzog and his entire staff are truly dedicated to what they do. The office staff works extremely hard. Five phone lines ring off the hook all day. I asked how many!! Their office is extremely busy! I take this to be a great sign of others loving them too. Although you DO have to wait for your appt (I think this is due to the many emergengies that need to be fit in each day). When you see him in a room he gives you his undivided attention. He is an EXTREMELY competent Dr in every way. I trust him very much! You DO need to be patient and realize there are many others who need his time and attention each day also. He works many long hours to try to make everyone safe and happy. He is compassionate and he understands my complaints. I rec him 100%, but remember, He's a busy guy!!!

Dr. Herzog delivered both of my children in 1983 and 1986. This comment is very long overdue, but he was kind, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. His colleages and staff were a joy to deal with. Thank you to all.

I loved my experience with Dr. Herzog. He was very caring, supportive and patient with all my concerns. He delivered my second child via c-section. I had a horrible experience with another practice that delivered my first child who had no bed side manners and was very dismissive. I was very depressed after delivering my child for about 6 months and did not think I wanted more children as a result. Well, we did end up getting pregnant again and I wanted to make sure I had a great doctor whom I felt at ease with. That was Dr. Herzog. Every time I saw Dr. Herzog I told him how scared and apprehensive I was due to my first pregnancy and the delivery and he provided a lot of emotional support. He talked me through everything at each visit and I never felt rushed, ever. I am confused by those that feel that he has no bed side manners or otherwise had a negative experience... but everyone has their opinion and own experiences. I would recommend Dr. Herzog in a heart beat.

One of the worst bed side manners of any doctor I have come into contact with. I called his emergency line and he asked me "if this was really an emergency" and said that I woke him up and to please stop calling his emergency service. Really? And to top it off, the I had to call back 3 times because he never called in the prescription that he said he would. I wanted to make sure he had the correct phone # and he wouldn't even let me get passed the area code and said "i have the #...please stop calling my service." I hope no one else ever has to deal with him.

I had the worst experience with dr. Herzog!! He made my husband n I worried about the pregnancy when everything was going fine. He told us I'd have to get a c section 3 weeks before my due date! The whole time I was in labor he never once checked on me to see how I was doing n he almost missed my daughter's birth. I had her naturally without the epidural n any pain meds, the way I wanted to give birth. He was very unsupportive n the staff was rude!! I will never go back!!
