This is the best physician you could ever see. Aside from the obvious wait (there is a reason for the wait-because he is the best there is) this was a pleasurable experience that gave me my vision back. He is a kind man who made me feel comfortable and safe. You have a retinal problem do not go anywhere else.

I wait for no one 3 hours unless they are Jonas Salk. So I only waited because he came highly recommended. Came breezing spent 5 minutes did not DO A THOROUGH exam and sent me packing. If he only sees patients for 5 minutes why is the wait so long. DO NOT SEE HIM.

After waiting 2 hours, still did not see doctor for the retinal scan ordered; so I left. Much time wasted waiting between 3 preliminary personnel / tests. Was not told at appointment -making that this would be 2 - 3 hours. Was told that only when complaining about how long it was taking. Dr. may be good, but the "factory" process is unacceptable.

My husband had lost vision in one eye . After visiting several other retina specialists who wanted to perform major surgery on my husbands eye. Dr. Wald examined him, explained a simple procedure that could be done... He is seeing again.
His office is always backed up, bring a book and snack, but he is worth the wait.

Even when he is not with a patient , makes you wait long long time, just to spend 5 max.10 minutes with your problem.

Wald is one of the finest retina specialists in the US and one of the finest surgical technicians in the country. He has a diverse practice with a group of other doctors so it is not as if you are visiting a bespoke tailor, and my average wait was about 1.5 hours beyond the appointment time -- so bring a book if you can read it. But count yourself lucky when you see him -- he is smart, up-to-date, extremely good and other ophthalmologists have said that they would trust him with their eyes if they ever had a problem. So if you want the very best, Wald is your man. But remember to bring a book and gear your expectations accordingly on the wait.

he is a very nice doctor, however, once you get to his office there is a waiting time at least two hours. i go to his office very often and i can tell you that some patients spend there all day. otherwise he is helpful.
