This doctor seems to be suffering from memory loss. And when I tried to make an appointment through Suzanne, his assistant, she said she’d be away for three weeks on personal business and wouldn’t be able to return calls until she returned!! Hard to believe a competent doctor would have an assistant like that!! Time to get my family doctor to try another hospital.

This doctor appears to be suffering from a severe short-term memory loss. Also it’s virtually impossible to reach his assistant since she’s away so often and won’t take messages. I’ve asked my family MD to reach out to North York Hospital since I understand has shorter wait times.

In 2002 I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer and used Dr. Klotz as a second opinion to determine my treatment. He examined me and looked at my biopsy and PSA results and decided I had to have my prostate removed ASAP. I had surgery two weeks after the examination. After the surgery I needed no further treatment. That was 21 years ago. I am now 88 years old and if it wasn't for Dr. Klotz I am sure that I would not be here. Thank you forever.I am Victor Oreskovich from the Niagara falls area

Dr. Klotz saved my life after I was admitted to Sunnybrook with acute renal failure in the winter of 2021. Within a week he had scheduled me for green light laser surgery on a grossly enlarged prostate. It was a successful procedure after which he and his assistant Suzanne arranged for regular home nursing visits to check on my post-operative progress. Genial, knowledgeable and amusingly blunt, Dr. Klotz is a skilled surgeon and a plainspoken advocate for best practices in an evolving field. He's also the founding editor-in-chief of the Canadian Journal Of Urology and the recipient of a 2014 Order Of Canada "for his contributions to the treatment of prostate cancer, notably for leading the adoption of Active Surveillance as a standard aspect of patient care". The award highlights Klotz's pioneering work in the approach of Active Surveillance with Selective Delayed Intervention ( a term he himself developed), with the emphasis on close monitoring for men with low-risk prostate cancer, with selective definitive intervention for those who are diagnosed higher risk over time. I am one such patient. There are hundreds of others who've benefited from his care.

Was scheduled for a distal uretroectomy and as I’m on the gurney and with IV he comes over and tells me I have a tumour in my kidney and has to be removed. How could this be? I went for images 10 days earlier as part of my pre-op and he now tells me? Turns out he was on holidays and just looked at my scans! I had the surgery and he did come to bedside 1 time post op for about 3 minutes and that was it for the 5 days I was in hospital. About 10 days later I had an appointment to have the staples and catheter removed. My appointment was for 10:30. By 1:15 I was still waiting in one of those small rooms. He even was right at my doorway as he spoke to other patients, never looking in or asking how I’m doing. I was so pissed that I called my GP and his nurse said that if I was able, she will remove the staples and catheter. I immediately left. Klutz’s office never called me asking why or to arrange another appointment. I should have reported this to the hospital ombudsman. This experience still lives with me from years ago.

His administrative assistant has ghosted me. Three voicemails and an email over the course of 5 weeks and no response. This was to follow up to do 2 tests that the doctor said we should do this summer in a phone consult over a year ago. I've never encountered this from any doctors office in my life. I give up.
