Saw him due to abnormal labs. We have a strong family history of autoimmune diseases. I started telling him my family member has Lupus but he cut me off and said if I was looking for a diagnosis of Lupus I was in the wrong place. That's not what I was looking for at all. I just wanted an answer to my symptoms. After that he made several other inappropriate comments about just looking for a disability. Luckily I didn't give up and pursued with another doctor who diagnosed me with Graves disease.

Dr. Getz does not look down on people, nor does he treat people like their disease is all in their head. I was 15 about the time I went to see Dr. Getz and many people, including doctors were treating me like my disease was in my head. I understand sometimes he can come off as standoffish. I don't think it's intentional. He's good at what he does, very busy, and yes he doesn't do a lot of hand holding. He listens, is open to your opinion, and offers recommendations.

I went to Getz. After missing an appointment. I missed it because first I was hospitalized w a coronary event and then because I required a major surgery. My connective tissue disease had progressed. He looked at my fingers. Not at any of the the major joints affected. He didnt look at any blood work from any other physician. And his comment was I was great and he wouldn't even take blood. He felt for swollen glands through my jeans. Really?

Saw a partner in his office. Staff very unhelpful. Asked for different anti-inflammatory, they acted like I was requesting opioids.

I saw Dr Getz several years ago and I left his office in tears. I was having horrible pain everywhere and when he came in to examine me he looked at my fingers and said you don't have rheumatoid arthritis so no need to come back unless you are having problems. He didn't listen to a word I said. I got a second opinion and turned out I did have something wrong causing me a lot of pain. I would go out of state to see a another doc before I would step one foot in his office again. You made me feel like I was crazy when I had something wrong.

I've gone to him for years. Rheumatology is a sad field of medicine - not too much to be happy about... but Dr. Getz does a fine job. Yes, he, like most specialists, is very smart - but can't make you younger nor much healthier. He does his job well, but doesn't do a lot of hand holding.

I don't understand the complaints at all. He's done me a world of good, and his office manner is pleasant. Is some of this in the eye of the beholder?

He does nothing but make people worse. He's a compulsive liar, very uncompassionate, mr. know-it-all. Does not listen to what you have to say and will keep prescribing you medications that make you sick. There's soooo many bad things about this man!

I think Dr Getz is the best doctor. He listens to your complaints, does not rush, and certainly does not think its "all in your head". Maybe certain people are unhappy with him because he does not hand out narcotics left and right with out trying more appropriate measures such as therapy, exercise, etc. I recommend him to all my friends and family!! Your great, keep up the good work. One happy patient
