I have no issues with Dr. Miranda directly. I believe him to be a knowledgeable doctor, although we really didn't progress with my hormone therapy. "We will call and let you know when you need to come in." That never happened. However, he abruptly closed his Katy office and I was told a month ago he decided not to open a new office at a new location in Katy (apparently the rent on the building became more than he was willing to pay). I was due my annual blood work so I got it done and they called in a refill. They told me on the phone that I would need to have the results reviewed so it would require a phone appointment. I told them I do not have $200 for a phone appt and believe it's unreasonable. Tuesday of this week I called for a refill because I only have one week of meds left. According to the pharmacy, his office told them on Wednesday they would fax the approval for the refill. I called today and the pharmacy still didn't have it. I called his office to see what the problem was and I was told I would need to come in for an exam before they would give me any refill. Hmmmm..... from Katy to Mission, Texas.... I don't think so! They wouldn't listen and insisted someone told me this last month! They are lying and I believe they are lying about their patients in their files! When I told his office today that I was checking into another doctor (in Katy) they said "oh, you found another provider" and hung up on me. All I had done was call another doctor and left a message asking if they accept insurance. Miranda's staff is completely rude once they know they are never opening another office there. They have my blood work results and I can't get into the website. I tried to get a temp password and it never sent me an e-mail. This office needs to be investigated at the very least! After they dumped their Katy patients they basically hold you hostage for a $200 phone appointment. If you don't do it, they tell you an appt for an exam is necessary. I guess that's their way to push you into paying them $200 for a phone appt. Worst mistake I ever made going to this doctors office.
