Overconfident, wild pronouncements and expensive unproven cures were recommended. She did not follow through and calls went unanswered. Yes she is rude and grumpy as well as incompetent and disorganized. I would not recommend.

I went to Dr Gillies for prolotherapy for about 7 years for chronic, debilitating pain I had for over 20 years. I had tried everything up to that point following my traumatic car accident. Yes, it wasn’t covered by medical and it was expensive, but worth it for me. I finally felt 90% relief! She is the most thorough doctor. Sometimes she may come across as rude, but she is so focused and intense on testing a patient and getting correct information. I believe Dr. Gillies is extremely professional, experienced and good at her specialty.

A lot of people make decisions out of fear, not truth

People feel their own body which she does not even try to feel even though the patient has asked her to feel their condition of tissue.

She was a physiotherapist in the UK decades ago. She has a sweet side to her, but the truth is I believe she has lost her competency and has memory loss. She also refuses to treatment the primary area of people’s main disease always saying it is referred from another part of the body when people know their conditions of constant pain in the same area. People like me are in constant stress and fighting to get proper medical care and she still does not listen or care. She does nothing about it.

She may mean well and say she likes to deal with complex issues, but the truth is that she is incompetent to handle complex issues and she is closed minded and does not listen to what patients have to say, even though they have been confirmed by other practioners of their condition.

Her method of complex inflammatory diseases with structural issues is stronger medications and prolotherapy and maybe some exercise.

Dr Gillies gave me my life back. She's unbelievably thorough, spending 4-6 hours on diagnosis and assessment, both through medical history and physical examination. For 4 years I was in chronic pain, while other doctors looked at me and said "diet and exercise" (sigh). Once I found her, she correctly diagnosed my bilateral sprained knees/torn ligaments, and then started on a series of injections to specifically treat each ligament, as well as targeted core exercises to improve my gait and take the strain off my knees. Do not expect a quick fix. You need to be patient, trust her method, and take all advice she gives, because she knows what she's doing. She is literally the only professional I happily wait for when she's running late, because I know why her appointments run over.

Very thorough, too much history taking with no follow up. Very good at treatments. Very slow with paperwork, tests, or follow ups, for the money she charges. Not MSP.

A receptionist in Dr. Gillies Jean's office just hung up the phone to a patient. There was an emergency patient who needed to see a rheumatologist urgently, so I called to this number and a person over the phone answered "Hello", then I asked if this was Dr. Gillies Jean's office but soon she just hung up the phone immediately. Called again, NEVER answer. found another doc. That was last year of during the Virus outbreak so I assume they were working at home. I hope the doctor would be a nice doctor, but her insane receptionists are needs to be monitored.

Never on time. You have to phone and phone to get any follow up. Spend hours asking questions and then does absolutely nothing. Amazing lack of professionalism.

I have suffered terribly for 6 years. I have been treated by my doctor, physiotherapist, chiropractor, naturopath and osteopath - no results. In my sixties, I believed my life was pretty much over. I had not been able to travel with my husband for 3 years due to pain. Dr. Gillies changed all that. Following a VERY thorough exam, she began prolotherapy on me, and I had immediate, but small relief. Over the next couple of sessions, my pain level decreased immensely. I am now pain free, and have begun travelling gain. My only regret is that it took so long to find her.

Dr. Gillies is unlike any doctor I have met. She takes her time to diagnose you and to make sure to provide the right treatment. For those who come in with unsolved pain for five years and expect to be diagnosed and treated in 10 minutes should go elsewhere. There is a reason why that pain has not gone away and expecting a immediate cure is ridiculous. I personally would greatly appreciate that a doctor would take that much time with me to figure out what's really going on instead of injecting me with needles after talking with me for 5 minutes. She really is the most knowledgeable doctor I have met and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

Please cancel Joel's subsequent appointments. We were unsatisfied with the treatment we received at your clinic. We are now a patient at another clinic where Joel received injections on the first visit. The injections were done with a view to stop the pain (a compassionate approach). In one visit, he received an entire treatment (not just half a head) and the pain was relieved for a few hours. Charges were only $50.

May we suggest that Dr. Gillies go into a research position, as she seems to have lost sight of the original goal of helping people get relief from pain.

Note:
- We waited 4 weeks for an initial visit to "determine eligibility" when eligibility had already been determined - Joel was referred from a pain clinic in McLean VA.
- After two hours of questioning, Dr. Gillies said Joel was a candidate for "headache protocol" and told us to come back in a week for injections.
- First available appointment was TWO weeks later, when Dr. Gillies proceded to spend another hour asking the same questions as the first visit, then gave injections (finally) but decided to stop after half the head was treated (stating it would be "interesting" to see the difference in pain from one side to the other) and charged $700
- We feel obligated to share this experience at your office with others so they will be informed of your methods and operating procedures.
