Dr Spurrel is the best doctor I’ve ever had. I’ve been with this doctor for 16 years. He delivered my son, and was there for me every step of the way. He is always willing to help me no matter what. He has been supportive during the toughest times of my life. DR Spurrel is the only doctor that I’ve met that will not judge you for the choices that you make in your life. The amount of knowledge that Dr Spurrel has is inspiring.

I am astonished to see any negative results about Dr Spurrell! He's been my only dr for over 11 years and he delivered both of my children. Having been a teen mom he was such an incredible mentor/dr & friend. He was very patient and understanding and I never felt rushed. Waiting for an appointment was not longer than any other doctors office I've been in and he always provided me with outstanding care with utmost respect. I refer all of my friends and family to him and my daughter will be his patient in due time as well! I love Dr. Spurrell

Dr. Spurrell delivered my baby because my doctor was not on that day. I feel he was very, very rushed. Jumped to the conclusion of a c-section way too rapidly. His overall demeanor was "panic." At one point he got into a very loud disagreement with a nurse over the correct dose of medication to use, thank god for the nurse, because she was correct. Had she not argued back I would have been given the incorrect dose. I don't know what he is like in day to day office visits, but I feel if a doctor gets in a state of panic and gets to the point that they can't figure out dosages of medicines to administer in emergency situations they should reevaluate themselves. Overall, the office seems to have gone down hill over the years. It's very difficult to get a hold of an actual person and not a voicemail, even when just attempting to make a call. I have several friends and family members that go to other doctors in the group and they have the same complaint.

I have been a patient of Dr. Spurrell's for almost nine years now and he delivered both my daughters. I was surprised to see some negative comments from people. I have found him to be extremely warm and caring. He is never rushed and always takes the time to address any and all concerns that I have. He has a very quirky and funny sense of humor which I have always found helpful in putting me at ease. Gynecological appointments are never fun and I think that his sense of humor is his way of trying to help his patients feel more comfortable and relaxed in an already awkward situation. I wish that more docs were as down to earth as he is.

I find it unusual to see all of these other comments from mothers who had their children delivered by this doctor as I thought he was only a doctor who performed abortions. He performed my abortion procedure last year in Massachusetts and joked around with me the whole time which I found very inappropriate and also informed me that his wife is a psychologist who specializes in couples who are dealing with infertility. I remember thinking at the time how opposite their careers were. One spouse terminates pregnancies and the other gives couples hope about trying to conceive. Having an abortion is not an easy thing to go through and haunts you afterwards. Dr. Spurrell did not make the procedure easy and seemed to make light of the whole procedure. Overall, I would not recommend him to expectant mothers who want him to deliver their child. Why would you want someone to deliver your child who also performs abortions? Just something to think about.

His staff=BAD. He's funny, and he is nice to a point. Yes, he can deliver a baby if there are no complications, he can do a gyn exam, prescribe medication for an STD or birth control. Just like any other typical OB/Gyn can. Don't bother going to him if you have PPD, urogynecologic issues, and certainly don't question his medical decisions because he will belittle you. So if you want a comedian delivering your baby, by all means go to this guy. But if you want a professional or have a problem go to Salk.

My 1st pregnancy and he's been a wonderful MD so far. He had to re-schedule a few times last minute but it was because he was assisting somone with a birth...2ho can complain about that? A baby waits for no one. The ONLY negative I can say is his scheduling dept...they NEVER call back. That's not his fault. I complained and his medical asst gave me her direct line.
