I had a terrible dental experience as a young boy and didn't go to the dentist for 15 years. I was referred to Dr. Katkow by a friend and although nervous about my appointment, was presently surprised by his friendly demeanor. After several more visits that incuded 7 fillings (all but one without the use of Novacane), I am convinced that he is unboutably the best, most informed dentist in the area. He has a gentle touch and a very professional yet comforting approach while explaining his approach toward present and future tratments. BTW, I havn't had to replace a filling since my intial appointment but will need to replace (at his insistance) my old Mercury fillings. I would reccomend anyone who has a fear of the dentist to schedule an appointment with Dr. Katkow, you won't be dissapointed.

Been seeing Eric Katkow for more than 20 years and have no plans on changing. He's probably the only medical/dental provider I have that really seems to care and have a clue. His prices are a little higher than insurance rates, but he's always been open/honest regarding what does and doesn't need done. He's conservative re: Xrays. Can't say enough good things.

I' not sure of the name of the person at the front desk, but I certainly wouldn't want her to be the representation for my business. She had far more interest in the book she was reading, and the question I asked was apparently a tremendous inconvenience for her. As I was leaving, I asked if she needed anything else from me. She simply looked up and said "no". No attempt was made to schedule another appointment in six months, the future, or to even say "goodbye". While the hygenist was very good, I would consider not returning due to how rude she was.

HAve been treated by Dr Katkow for more than 30 years, quite simply the best dentist!! highly recommend practice; now seeing his son, Larry, also extremely competent, friendly, conscientious, highly recommended

I've been going to Dr. Katkow since 1974. Before coming to Maryland and Dr. Katkow, it was one cavity and filling after another, and several toothaches! Since then - not a single cavity or toothache. He has replaced fillings by other dentists which have fallen out, but his do not fall out. I also like the fact that he is trained in detecting mouth cancer and has referral contacts at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. When I was a cancer patient, Dr. Katkow taught me so much about dental care for cancer patients that I was educating the oncologists! He is about my age, but his son Larry has entered the practice. Dr. Larry, like Dr. Eric, is personable and is dedicated to the same quality care as his Dad. So when Dr. Eric retires, as we all will sooner or later, we will still have an outstanding Dr. Katkow to care for our dental needs.
