My daughter had a brain tumor 3 years ago and we are scheduled to have an MRI today to check to see if the tumor has returned. My daughter went through the initial part of the MRI perfectly, but when it came time to place the iv for the contrast, she became very nervous and would not give up her arm. The radiology office was very patient and made many attempts, finally suggesting that I call her peds dr and see if they would prescribe an oral sedative so she would be able to complete the test today. I called the Eastern Pediatrics and I spoke directly with dr. Phillips and he refused to prescribe her anything and would not even provide an appointment to see her today. He suggested behavioral therapy for her phobia of needles and no resolution to find out if there is residual tumor growth. WOW! My daughter has been through immense trauma and for her the day she has to have an MRI each year does bring stress. Dr. phillips is suited for his career choice and is not recommended!

Love Dr. Phillips! He's very attentive, takes lots of time with you (which does sometimes lead to long waits), and being a father of several kids -- is great with them. When my daughter had an extended stay in the hospital after he was born, he and his partner, Dr. Irwin, were there every day.

Dr. Phillips is terrific with children and their parents. He speaks to you as if you are an intelligent human that DOES want what is best for your child even if he disagrees about what that might be. He is willing to discuss options and actually listens to a parent's opinion.
