I just had my first appointment with Dr. Huey today, and I am very impressed! He has excellent patient interaction skills; is very friendly and professional; communicates with patients through what he is doing at all steps of the process; and is very thorough in collecting patient histories. He seems very patient-centered, and I truly think he's a quality physician. It was easy for me to schedule an appointment, and the wait time was short. The woman at the desk doesn't look or sound as bright and friendly as you might expect at a fancy service establishment, but she's definitely still perfectly pleasant. The facilities also are not as grand as what you might expect from, say, a market leader in the hospital industry, but that's not to say the place is a dump (e.g. Planned Parenthood) either. The facilities appear clean and tidy, and I appreciate that. Resources *should* be devoted to delivering patient care, not overly posh facilities for the purpose of drawing in patients.

While I'll agree that his front desk staff can sometimes leave a lot of room for improvement, I think Dr. Huey is an excellent doctor. He's not nervous at all. That he takes the time and money to give you information on your illness, so you don't have to, is a testament to his desire that you leave his office well informed. And he's patient...you can ask question after question and he won't get upset. He'll just calmly answer your questions, explain why he's sure it's not what you think it is, and when needed, print you out resources to get more info. He's a good doctor.

This doctor is the most wonderful guy! He spends time with you because he is really caring and wants to accurately identify what is wrong (which, by the way he is VERY GOOD at) and help you recover so you can enjoy your life. He goes out of his way to be helpful which is why he prints information out for you to take with you. I like that he will follow up and you can get him on the phone instead of just his back office person-he is easier for me to talk to and it is better for me to get the information directly. I have been seeing him for over 10 years and HE DEFINITELY KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING-I would not go anywhere else and the nice thing is that I do not feel I have to-he will provide better care than the specialists!

I've only been a patient for a short time but have come to learn that Dr. Huey does not know what he's doing. He is a friendly man, but seems really nervous and whenever a problem is presented, will leave the room and print out something on the computer. (I could do this!) The lady who answers the phones is hideous and has a really nasty attitude. Go ahead and try to give this office a call, ask a few questions and listen to the tone in her voice...almost as if you're bothering her. The other, younger lady assistant in the office seems to be the only one who knows what she's doing and is very friendly. I would NOT recommend Dr. Huey to anyone at this time. In fact, I'm going to be leaving his care behind when I get married later this year. I just hope I'm healthy until then and I don't have to go back to see him.
