Dr. Garret was my VA Doc for ~13 years. He is great!

Dr. Garrett is a caring and dedicated physician. He not only cares about the well being of his patients, but also that of their family members. He takes the time to talk with his patients and gets to know them.

This doctor apparently does not care about his patients. I can not get him to do certain blood tests that I know I need because he says they are not "medically necessary". Even after I paid a laboratory a considerable amount to do them myself (and found I was right), he still will only do 2 of the several tests I need done every two months to track the progression of my cancer and cancer therapy. He could have the VA do these tests (which would be free to me). Instead, he forces me to do them at my own expense (I have no insurance). He prefers his patients not take responsiblity for their own health.
