Dr. Kimball was on time and knowledgable. You will be seen by interns/residents as well, and they spent more time with me than Dr. Kimball. But ultimately Dr. Kimball saw me along with 2 residents. I went for a full body skin exam so be aware that it is very thorough and make sure you are comfortably being seen totally undressed by several people simultaneously. Since moles can occur even in areas of the body that are not exposed to the sun I was fine with such a thorough exam but it is worth knowing ahead of time.

Since she is director of clinical research, maybe she is better if you are in a clinical trial. Otherwise, she sees patients one day a week and frankly acts as if even that is too much oif a bother for her.

Very rushed. Almost took no time for my appt. Told me to come back in 3 months. She had an intern working for her (who prescribes things to make the visit even faster) who called me after I left and told me that she had given me the wrong prescription.

My mother was diagnosed with melanoma a year ago, so I wanted to go see a dermatologist in Boston to have my skin checked. I was initially excited to see Dr. Alexandra Kimball because I had read on the web that she is an accomplished dermatologist. However, my own experience could not be more disappointing! The support staff in the Mass General dermatology clinic was friendly and roomed me quickly. When Dr. Kimball walked in, I was about to tell her about my family history of skin cancer and which moles I was concerned about. However, she interrupted me after about 10 seconds and started examining my skin. Dr. Kimball took literally about 30 seconds to exam my skin! She glances over my skin without closely checking the moles I was concerned about. And I was covered with funny-looking moles, like my mother! She said "you look fine and see you in a year," and turned around and left! I wasn't able to ask questions! I was extremely disappointed by my experience with Dr. Kimball.
