Dr.Read was my family doctor for many years. She delivered my second child. It's been a few years and I have moved. But really wished I could see her as my doctor again.

I had the unfortunate experience to be treated by Dr. Rua Read in the emergency room for a significant sports injury. She was the most dis-engaged, uncaring, incompetent physician I have ever known and I’m no youngster. She clearly is just going through the motions for a paycheck. She certainly violates her professional oaths and that no one has died as a result of her treatment is remarkable. Avoid her at all costs.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a health care professional. My mentally ill daughter presented at the emergency room on the advice of the walk in clinic. Dr. Read was dismissive, condescending and offensive. When my daughter fell violently ill hours later she did not want to rerun to the hospital because of how Dr. Read treated her.
She needed emergency care and could have used some compassion, we got neither. Shame on you Dr. Read. Maybe if she was injured mountain biking or skiing, you might have cared?

I’m very sorry to have to review this way but it is what it is I guess.
Firstly, Dr Reid must be selective in who she decides to thoroughly help and who she just brushes to the side. I base this assumption on some reviews here saying how wonderful she is. My takeaway from this Dr after about 4-5 years of having her as a family Dr is that I’m simply an annoyance to her day. That my questions or concerns are not valid and that my health is not important what so ever to her. I have held on for the past 1 1/2years thinking it must just be me or I am over sensitive but now I am clearly dealing with somebody that does not care about my personal health and is not concerned with working with me. I can not stress how uncomfortable this Dr has made me feel in the past about ANYTHING that may come up and I have concerns about. And if she doesn’t know about something do not expect her to educate herself on the subject because she won’t.
It’s as if Dr Reid became a doctor and then regretted ever getting into that career and is now just burnt out and sick of doing her job. I find it’s nice to deal with a Doctor that is actually involved and seems like they are engaged with the career.
I have finally made the decision to change doctors for my family of 5 because I feel as though the last thing I want is to be constantly cringing every time I plan on going to see my family doctor. I feel as though it’s a pretty important relationship to have open, honest and trusting and unfortunately I feel none of these with Dr Reid.
I would not suggest Dr Reid as a family doctor

Dr Read is a very kind, caring and extremely knowledgeable doctor. Our family is very lucky to have have her.

I'm 75 years old so I've seen a few doctors in my life. I've never felt in more competent hands than Dr Reads. She really listens which sounds simple enough, but in its full meaning is a skill not all doctors possess. I feel a sense of caring from her in the same way she might care for her own family member. I trust Dr Read completely and am so grateful that I'm her patient. I don't know if she's taking new patients, but if she is anyone would be fortunate to have her as their doctor.

I cannot thank Dr. Rua Read enough for taking me on as a patient when I moved down summer of 2017. I am so thankful for our mutual, trusted partnership in which we have when addressing my healthcare needs as she truly, genuinely listens to all of my struggles, one being particularly debilitating. She has such a pure and gentle manner and goes above and beyond to try and resolve my health concerns which have primarily been crippling me all of my adulthood. It is evident through her kind demeanor that she can envision herself in her client's shoes and sense their struggles and pain which is so very hard to find in physicians these days due to various stigmatisations and how over worked the health care system is. I truly feel as though you are saving my life Dr. Read!
I am so very appreciative of Dr. Rua Read having accepted me on as a patient especially as there are no physician’s accepting new patients all across the lower main land. I felt an instant connection when first meeting with Dr. Read which immediately established our trusting physician- client relationship and for the first time in my entire life after seeing dozens of specialists’, physicians and other healthcare professionals’, I genuinely feel she truly hears my voice. One comment she has made which will forever stay in my heart is that “she is hopeful for me”. What more can I say except for thank you for choosing healthcare as your profession as evidently it is your true calling.

This doctor has been the most insensitive doctor I have ever seen. Tells me what is wrong with me but fails to give a solution, leaving me in pain.
