Dr. Heather is THEE BEST!!
I enjoy our appointments and consider them to be visits.
He is very understanding and it shows in what he says but also in his body language. HIS CONCERN IS NUMBER ONE. I believe he genuinely wants me to get better and thrive. As others have stated, I'm not a number to him. I AM A PATIENT, A PERSON, AN INDIVIDUAL and that comes across loud and clear.
He has subtle ways of seeking out how I am really feeling. No straight up questions, i.e. How was your week ?" not that I really couldn't care less routine"! He learns by my words and MY body language~~~And believe me~~~ He can read me like a book. When I mess up, he knows and lets me "hang myself". Then he might chastise me depending on the issue If it pertains to my meds, he lowers the boom~~~Which is what A GOOD DOCTOR should do. If I just need someone in my corner, he will go to great lengths to genuinely support me. In all the time I've gone to DR. HEATHER I have always thought he had my back.
Sometimes his schedule gets behind and that can be a little dismaying. It only means his patient/s needed some extra time. Can attest he has run over on my account too. Give a little. Get a little.

He is MY DOCTOR and MY FRIEND AS WELL.

Dr. Heather is truly a care giver. He honestly cares about you (well, as far as I have been able to ascertain). You can feel his empathy and concern. He never jumps to conclusions, but instead takes the time to listen closely to you. He stays completely current on all new medicines and treatment options. However, he never forces anything on you. He takes a much more cooperative approach that leads to you having an active part in your own treatment. No lecturing, no hectoring, no attitude, no condescension. Dr. Heather simply a great person and the best doctor of any kind I have encountered. This is someone you can thoroughly trust.

He is very, very helpful with difficult disorders, like my rapid cycling bipolar disorder and psychoses. Other doctors gave up, but he doesn't. He has a good sense of humor. He understands dual diagnosis and doesn't judge when you mess up. He recognizes how medications affect different people differently.

Easy to connect to. He gets right to the point. Asks the right questions to see if meds need tweaked.

Dr. Heather is an extremely awesome Dr. He will take the time with you to understand who you are and what you need. He is extremely knowledgeable and goes the extra mile in getting you what you need. He is the only dr. that has put me on the right meds. It took me 15 years to find him.

He is willing to try new strategies and procedures (such as the VNS implant) to work toward mental health. He is accessible and returns calls in a timely manner. He has excellent knowledge of medications, and was referred to me as "an expert pharmaceudical clinician." He is willing to take an extra five minutes with you if you need it to really understand your situation, he doesn't treat you as just a number or case study, you are a real person. He has an uncanny memory - he remembers med regiments and distant past conversations from with no chart or computer prompting. He is extremely personable and easy to talk to.
