In October 2022, I suffered an achilles tendon rupture and was referred to Dr. Saxena by my family doctor. I underwent surgery on October 26th. Unfortunately, from December 5th onwards, I experienced significant complications. My left foot swelled, and the wound continued to have discharge for three months, with unabsorbed stitches appearing every month. I was very worried about my condition, but Dr. Saxena showed no concern or interest in my situation. He just simply advised me to clean my wound at home using Alcohol Pre pad every night, and told me this tendon recovery normally need to take 5-6 months.
In February, I requested a referral to the Stanford Advance Wound Care, but Dr. Saxena refused to provide it. I was extremely disappointed and felt that he lacked medical ethics. Dr. Saxena seemed more interested in promoting his surgical skills and reputation than providing quality care to his patients. He frequently mentioned that he performed the most surgeries in the Bay Area and that my case was only 1% of his many operations. This dismissive attitude made me feel very unsupported during my recovery.
Additionally, when I expressed an interest in learning more about Achilles tendon surgery, Dr. Saxena repeatedly directed me to his website rather than taking the time to explain the procedure to me himself.
In summary, I found Dr. Saxena to be a doctor who prioritized surgery over patient care. If given the chance, I would never seek his services again. Thankfully, I was able to find a second doctor at a different wound care clinic who was able to help me with my chronic wound without needing a referral.
