I can hardly believe this Dr is still in business . I am disgusted that any hospital would allow him
to do surgeries. He is the nastiest human being I’ve ever met. I was assigned him
as a surgeon after a night in the ER at Banner Baywood. He refused to explain the procedure, he was rude, short and condescending. My gut told me not to use him. Thank goodness I listened to my instinct. The nurses and anesthesiologist practically cheered when I fired him. He was a jerk to everyone. During my entire stay in the hospital not one staff member had anything nice to say about him. After I got home from the hospital he already had a $400 bill waiting in my mailbox. FOR DOING NOTHING !!! He plays dirty. He even confronted us after we fired him. I will report him to every site possible. I already reported him to the hospital and I am in the process of finding out how many complaints he has against him on the medical board .. I have never in my life experienced such a terrible bedside manner .. Im case you or your brainwashed office staff see this, NO ONE LIKES YOU.. Sorry you paid for medical school because you picked the wrong profession .. You need to humble yourself and beg for forgiveness to those you have mistreated, but you have obviously been getting away with this far too long !! Hang it up buddy ! Do your homework folks !

Dr. Kistner saved my mother's life when she presented to Mercy Gilbert Hospital with an unusual presentation for a ruptured appendix. He was extremely caring and gentle with her. He called me ma'am! Not what I normally expect from a surgeon. He took great care of my mother and I would give him my highest recommendation. Btw, I am a family doctor, and I know great medical care when I see it!

My experience with Dr. Kistner was good. I was assigned to him by the hospital for an appendectomy. He did the appendectomy the next day. As far as I can tell he did a fine job with laproscopic surgery and I am healing well. After surgery, he answered all of my dad's questions.I didn't see much of him, but didn't need to. The Followup appt. to remove staples was easy breezy - got there ten minutes earlier, and was put in the room before finishing the paperwork and was literally driving away five minutes after my appointment time. Dr came in, removed the staples, answered my questions and I was done. As far as him as a doctor, I wouldn't hesitate to use him again - he was quite nice and seemed competent. Unfortunately he is out of network for my insurance and it will cost me a lot more. That is frustrating but not the doctor's fault - the hospital called him. Also his staff is quite nice - after I was discharged from the hospital I called with questions and they were very helpful.

This doc is getting a bad rap. He just removed my gall bladder 3 days ago and if it was not for his due diligence i would not be so easily typing this review. He did a VERY thorough job of making sure my system was working optimally and all of the stones were gone. Is he a bit on the dry side? Yes. The man is a surgeon, give him a break. If you want someone to hold your hand and be best friends with you (which you may, that's cool) then maybe he isn't your guy. If you want a well done surgery by a professional doctor who will crack a few dry jokes at you and take good care of you without a lot of fanfare then you are in good hands. I would feel comfortable with him again.

Went to ER with severe stomach pains & told id have to have an appendectomy. Surgery was scheduled 6 hours later. Dr Kistner showed up an hour late, like it was no big deal. No matter how small/big the surgical procedure is no one deserves to wait for surgery!!! Saw Dr. K the following day and he was just overall evasive, he wouldnt answer questions completely, and just left me scratching my head. I stayed another night in the hospital and finally got a visit from him around 6pm. I happened to be in the bathroom and told him id be "right out". I never saw the guy again!!! He didnt even tell my nurse I was discharged!!! So, I was discharged without having the opportunity to ask any questions regarding my emergency surgery. Luckly I had an awesome nurse who took the time to answer my questions. Im skipping my follow up with him and making an appointment with my PCP.

My extreme gratitude goes to Dr. L. Kistner,Surgeon & Consultant, as well as to Dr. L. Caleb that allows me to be able to write this letter today. I consider my self very fortunate that Dr. Kistner was assigned to me as surgeon; complications during and after surgery netted him a much more complicated and difficult procedure.
