Dr Wiegand is the best psychiatrist I ever had. He is a excellent Dr. I would say he is the best psychiatrist in Tucson!!!!!!

Dr. Wiegand is one of The Best Doctors in Tucson, AZ. He is an outstanding phychiatrist. He truly cares about his profession and is conscientious in offering the most compassionate care to his patients. He is very warm, funny and makes an effort to connect with his patients. He treats his patients with respect and honors their input. He is trustworthy and extremely intelligent. He is current with all modes of treatment and it is a pleasure to have someone listen. He is a tremendous asset to his profession!

I have never actually "seen" this doctor, however he was on-call for my then regular psych when she was out of town. I had tried to wean off my meds while pregnant and was having great difficulty in doing so. Dr. Wiegand worked with me to try and help me find something appropriate to balance me out for the meantime. He was very empathetic, kind, and very helpful. I wish he could be my doctor, however he isn't accepting new patients under my insurance. I will never forget the kindness and help that he gave me during one of the most stressful times of my life.

Dr.is very punctual, polite, exceptionally well educated, knowledgeable about Psychiatry....He comes across as extremely bright and somewhat cerebral....but his demeanor is NOT cocky or arrogant. He is "approachable" and his body language says "safe". He seems to have a guarded warmth, and a hidden sense of humor..... In short, this Dr. is probably poised "to soar" as an Md in Tucson! Caveat: Something is "holding him back".... (from soaring)....Can't quite put my finger on it.....but this is why I rated "helpfulness" lower than it should have been....Most MD's "set a tone"....... As a pt, I then try to work with (and/or) around the doctor's tone ( or style) in order to better communicate my needs to him/her......I GRAPPLED for nearly 3 years to find this MD's "tone"....and never found it!! In doing so, I believe I drove him (and myself)"mad".....then, just when I thought I'd found a way to meet this doctor half-way, I believe, he "fired" me!! (But that's another story.......)
