I think of Dr. Vivian as a friend. He has brought my wife out of Bi-Polar Personality Disorder and Psychosis and even helps when we're in Florida.

3 appointments with Dr. Vivian, and this is not what I expected; he’s more of a “give you a drug and see what happens” kind of guy, not an interdisciplinary approach kinda guy. I would like some CBT/DBT paired with any necessary pharmaceutical therapy, but this man, within ten minutes of meeting me, told me I probably have ADD (which isn’t even in the DSM anymore, if that tells you how dated his knowledge is), and he prescribed me ADHD meds. When there was no change, it was a higher dosage. No change? New drug. Appointments were maybe 15 minutes long and he still takes forever to get to you & will bill full cost. And he will make you wait for an hour, and he’s even skipped me as I’m writing this (my appointment was an hour ago), but then he’ll charge you $175 if you’re late or cancel.

Further, he nearly refused to treat me unless I promised to “give up” my medical marijuana (prescribed by a pain doctor) and my pain medicine, because, according to him, its “poison.” Its all “poison” is all he could say.

If you’d like to see a psych who actually cares about his patients, has kept up with the scientific research in his field, and won’t belittle you or talk down to you, then I won’t recommend Dr. Vivian, unless you are on the same wavelength with him in terms of his largely archaic & outdated approach to treatment. Sadly, the medical system in America sucks, so we don’t have many choices, and he’s my guy ‘til I can find someone else.

Dr. Vivian is a top notch Psychiatrist with over 40 years of experience. I have been seeing him for 4 yrs. Dr. Vivian has saved my sanity through very traumatic events. He has diagnosed me correctly and has prescribed the best medicine to improve my life. I highly recommend Dr. Vivian. In my experience he has been very professional, kind,
and respects his patients.

Perhaps one of the most disgusting people I've ever met. He is rude and argumentative - right when I met him. Not so good for making a patient feel safe and free to talk. He's judgmental and you better have the same political and religious views as he does.

After several counselors suggested to my husband that he had severe undiagnosed ADHD we made an appointment with Dr. Wing who semed very caring and concerned ,listened to my husband and I (who has spent everyday for 40 yrs. dealing and observing my husband)and wrote all kinds of notes. His opinion was the same as the previous counselors and he made an appointment for my husband with Dr. Vivian (The Medicine Man)right then plus more with him until we got to see Dr. Vivian. We didnt know we would be seeing another doctor and we picked Dr. Wing as he is supposed to specialize in ADHD and does the accessment. For the first time ever my husband felt hope that finally he was getting help Welllll that is NOT what happened at all.
Dr. Vivian was abrupt, rude ,confrontational and no way did he read any of those notes or pay attention to the specialist ,Noooo the specialist in Psychotics asked why we were there .After describing the litany of problems he has suffered all his life that have drastically gotten worse the last few years and also mentioning his job was his pride and joy and these problems were affecting it because he couldnt focus . This moron decides to turn memory retention into amnesia and sleeping issues into cant sleep at all and says in order to be given medication for apparently never sleeping my husband must take a leave of absence from his job indefinitely to even try medication or he cant treat him. That is so asinine and uneducated besides his horrible demeanor,After reading these reviews we are thankful that quack fired us as a patient so my husband wasnt overly medicated for a condition he doesnt have or bullied into suicidal thoughts. What a horrible doctor and person ,a control freak who doesnt let or trust his employees treat their patients as they feel necessary. Not only does he need to lose his license or retire he also needs to retire those ugly ass blue shoes he was wearing.

"Do not go to this doctor. Our insurance company wouldn't cover the visits so we were on self pay. He charged us 100$ for a less than 10 min session. Then we he was asked about it he called us abusive and quit the patient who was a 17 yr old boy... we pleaded with him to keep seeing our son but he refused and now he's without care just because we had the nerve to ask about 100$ for 6 min session.. he only cares about the money not the patient... avoid at all cost."

Dr. Vivian appears to have little to no concern for the well-being of his patients when anything that's not pre-scheduled arises that is of importance to them. His office is disorganized and he leaves patients waiting with no obvious concern for what they are going through.

Have been a patient of Dr. Vivian's for many years. He has greatly improved my quality of life. Under his care I have been healthy enough to maintain a job for 10 years at the same company. Appointment times often run behind schedule, but that is because of the huge volume of patients he sees. It is well worth the wait to see him.
