I agree with a previous reviewer in that my condition and co-infections were not properly treated. I wouldn't recommend even to a new lyme patient. Modified Cowden's (only two herbs) will not cut it. There are better informed LLMDs out there so look elsewhere.

After visiting what seems every doctor in Southern California Dr. Gonzales was the only one who knew exactly what he was doing, he took all my symptoms and concerns seriously and we narrowed it down to Lyme disease. What took other doctors a year and a half to simply diagnosis, Dr Gonzalez cured in 8 months. He is one of the most knowledgable Doctors I have met. His staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, very knowledgable themselves and extremely curtious to your needs. Most of Dr. Gonzalez treatment is herbal which is a bigger plus. His entire ideology and approach to lyme is one of the best I have seen. He gave me my life back. All my other doctors and specialists had misdiagnosed me with MS. So you can understand my relief when I found a Lyme literate Doctor. I would definitely reccomend Dr. Gonzalez to anyone looking for a REAL doctor who cares for his paitients.

I was refered to him because I was very sure I had lymes and could not find a dr. He was amazing! The staff was very professional and took all my info . I came earily and he took me right away. The dr. Spent a lot of time asking me questions and said I have lymes for sure! He gave me the biotics and herbal drops as well! I am going back for the Igenex blood test. Now I have some hope that I may feel better soon.

I will not use this doctor again. He puts way too much value into food being "organic", claiming produce has no nutritional value unless it has the "organic" label. The pamphlets in the exam room are bizarre to say the least and make him sound paranoid. One paper was about flu shots and how bad they are for you and then it went on to say the government may make them mandatory. There was another strange paper about cell phones and their health effects. The front office staff was rude when I politely commented on it being freezing in their office and she asked me if I would like to wait in the other waiting room. I asked her if it was warmer there and she said no! The only normal person there was the person that drew my blood. She was very pleasant and professional.

I saw Dr. Gonzalez for about a year for Lyme Disease. In that time, I had two very scary incidents because he wasn't paying attention to the medications he was putting me on and off of. For example, he told me to stop taking Seroquel because he was going to put me on another sleep drug.I ended up having god-awful withdrawal and a seizure from it, then found out later that you are never supposed to stop Seroquel cold-turkey like that, but rather, taper down very gradually. I don't think this mixup was a result of him not having proper knowledge of these medications, but rather, taking on way too many patients and always being rushed. I never felt like he was really paying attention. He also doesn't seem to treat for any of the co-infections like Babesia and Bartonella (at least he didn't for me, even though I needed it). I think Dr. Gonzalez is perfectly fine if you are dealing with a recent Lyme infection, but if you have chronic Lyme, I would not recommend him.

Me being a vague patient and finding it hard to explain my symptoms could not asked for a more tolerant doctor.I felt rushed on my second appointment and wish he would explain my diagnosis a little more but overall, he appears to be a caring doctor.

Have been his patient for 4 years. Staff is best I've ever encountered - very friendly and helpful. He's busy so the best appointments are early AM when he's reasonably on time. He's very technical but has a new-found emphasis on wholistic medicine - less prescription meds; more focus on diet, vitamins, and supplements. You'll get a stern lecture if you use tobacco, drink alcohol or have high blood pressure, but I like a doc who tells me the truth and makes me accountable. Expect lots of blood tests to track results which can get pricey. His technical approach is far from friendly but it's all directed at long-term health rather than treating me when I'm sick - exactly what I was looking for.
