Before I went to see Dr Tinmouth I was tossed around from one hematologist to another for years. I was a complex case. Dr Tinmouth did not give up on me. Today I am happy to say I am doing great with very little medication. I shutter to think where I would be if I had not been referred to him. I always found Dr Tinmouth to be very knowledgeable, kind and pleasant. His staff is second to none I have never been disappointed with their service. Thank you Dr Tinmouth for all that you have done for me and continue to do. Lori Jones

I wouldn't have him look after a fish. No call backs, doesn't care about his patients. He and the staff need to be replaced. Dr. Allan Tinmouth is a joke.

Called his office spoke with receptionist left request for my wife, called again couple times left voice messages, just never returned a call once. Guess got a fixed salary and enough patients that he does not care less about minor patient requests and needs. Kind of dr that forgot what taking care of patients is all about. Wondering why ,if he is under the umbrella of the Ottawa General Hospital, is there not an evaluation system or guidelines for such POOR customer service, patient service. Guessing if the health card can't get clicked, ignore is the order of the day. Sorry for disturbing you Sir!

The best hemophilia specialist I met. Professional, understanding and taking time to listen, then to provide his opinion, for which the patient gets time to ask more questions (if needed)!

I have met with Dr. Tinmouth in person years ago. He was fine. This year for a virtual appointment, he called with a PRIVATE number over an hour past the appointment time and I could not answer in those 15 seconds, and when it hung up, 2 seconds afterward I had no way to call back. He wouldn't commit to a time via email and just said "I'll try later", so are you just supposed to sit by the phone for hours? I now have surgery scheduled and need instructions. As ALWAYS, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get in contact with him or their office. And, when FINALLY you MIGHT, confirmed action is not taken. He may be a good doctor, I don't know, but when you cannot actually get in touch with him, it doesn't matter even if you are "the best".

My mother was assigned this doctor. She was referred to the RAPID intake Hematology clinic to be SEEN within TWO weeks for anemia. It took EIGHT weeks for her to receive a single phone call. She is a vulnerable senior with other health complications. He mustn't have read thru her history in the past year before calling her, because he prescribed a kind of iron she CANNOT take with her history of bowel blockage. This was confirmed by the pharmacist, who I called after she picked it up. Due to other complications, she doesn't know her whole history. Thankfully she didn't take any (and she also had to pay for it when he told her it was covered) so we had to go back to our GP and internist to get another prescription. She told me he wanted her to have a colonoscopy. Multiple xrays have already found a spot on her lung, and a colonoscopy isn't going to see it in more detail. He should be pushing for the chest CT scan, but to comply, her internist referred her for a colonoscopy. When she got there, after the prep, and in the gown ready to have the procedure, the surgeon REFUSED to do it because of her overall condition and said she needs the CT scan FIRST since that's where we *know* the problem is, and why her voice has been hoarse for months. She called his office back and gave them my phone number (I am her PoA) asking that he call me regarding the wrong prescription and he never called. I also left another message asking that he return the call, and NOTHING!! So the GP and internist are following her as closely as possible, she sees one of them every 2-3 weeks for follow up blood work. There are now SIX requisitions in for the chest CT scan. The doctors have asked when she SEES Dr Tinmouth again and we said we have NO follow up. All he is doing is looking at a monthly blood test, absolutely nothing about the CAUSE of anemia, which has already determined to be lung disease that no colonoscopy would ever see. Needless to say, we're getting a referral to a hematologist who actually helps patients, because this one sure doesn't!! To summarize, his one and only phone call was six weeks late, and he didn't correct a wrong prescription. Even during Covid, cancer patients are still being treated. This doctor ignores patients who need treatment most. No one with hemoglobin of 63 should have to suffer thru an eight week wait for a phonecall, which is what happened to us. Absolutely ZERO confidence in this doctor.

Dr. Tinmouth is my mother’s hematologist and has been following her for 3+ years. Excellent knowledge and flexible to meet my Mom’s schedule. Very thorough and helpful. His staff is great to work with - from his assistant to the staff that provide treatment.

I had an excellent consult with Dr. Tinmouth regarding the upcoming extraction of my wisdom teeth. He explained my situation thoroughly and provided easy to follow next steps.

I have seen specialists for various reasons in the past, including another hematologist. Dr. Tinmouth is the only specialist I have ever seen that I truly think has been helpful and would look forward to meeting with again to monitor my case.

His staff were also great -- easy to get a hold of and quickly responded to enquiries.

We had an appointment with Dr. Tinmouth today , Monday 13 April 2015, and he was not at his post since he was traveling to France this weekend. His flight was delayed and we were bumped for another appointment which they can't give us a date since their secretary can't foreseen more then 6 months. We'll call you back when we can give the next date. Wow very impressive service. Two months we waited for this appointment. On top of that, since when a doctor can travel overseas and see patients not even 24 hours later? No incubation period? And we are wondering why diseases cross over our boundaries... I found that doctor irresponsible and do not care for his patients... When I travel, I do always give a couple days to make sure I'm here for my customer's appointments.
Hope this helps.

Fred
