Dr. Cowan was terrific! He explained how the Vasectomy was going to happen. He had me at ease and even laughing - great sense of humor and a well educated Stanford Doctor. He was professional and knew what he was doing. I am really glad I chose to have him do this procedure for me. Highly recommend.

I have several complaints but only room for one. I had insurance when I saw Dr. Cowan for a varicocele, for which he prescribed a varicocelectomy - the procedure he'd do at an area hospital. The first appointment was a bit odd. Dr. Cowan seemed to have little care for what I was experiencing and I don't think I saw a hint of a smile on his face. Word to doctors out there who deal with patients in their most vulnerable state, i.e. naked - be nice. Here's the kicker, "Cindy", his assistant was the admin who booked the appointment, but unfortunately booked it (without my knowing) for an out-of-network hospital. After the procedure was done, I got a $10k bill in the mail for the hospital fees. Lesson learned, do your homework pre-op, but Cindy should have known this sort of thing, no doubt booking procedures being part of her job. When I called afterward to find out what happened, she got nasty with me on the phone and blamed me. I cannot recommend this doctor or office.

1000 words is not enough room to tell you about my horrible experience with this Doctor. He is the definition of a drive through doctor, get them in and get them out. Made me get a $1000 CAT scan, which took 3 weeks to schedule because they have 1 girl who can schedule and is impossible to get a hold of. He than performed a scope procedure in his office of my bladder, which was extremely painful. He had no regard for the pain I was in when the Catheter was in. He than let me go without any resolution to my problems. Thirty minutes later, there was blood in my urine and it was excruciating to go to the bathroom. Called Dr. Cowan, only to have him say that was normal from the procedure he did. No heads up, had to find out about the extreme pain on my own. Thank you Doctor. Called 2 weeks later to complain, only to have it fall on deaf ears. All this man cares about is your money, and getting you out the door as soon as he can. Worse doctor experience of my life.

Excellent doctor. Dr. Cowan spent a lot of time with me during appointments to understand my issues and make recommendations. I elected to have surgery and it went very smoothly. Both Dr. Cowan and his staff returned phone calls promptly and were very helpful.

Bad start: nurses were surfing the internet when I arrived. Shortly after I entered the examination room, 'Susan' came in and told me that Dr. Cowan would be in shortly. She took my medical history and then, began to examine me! Dr. Cowan did eventually arrive. He stayed in the room for 5 minutes. Never sat down. Never faced me (only faced the door), and answered my questions only with one word answers. He was clearly too busy to spend time with a paying patient. Bottom line, if you would like to see 'Susan', proceed to make an appointment Dr. Cowan.
