I’ve just discovered this site, and I can’t believe that this man can be allowed to call himself a specialist. Some time ago, he treated me over a period of 6 months for recurring UTI - where these were occurring every few weeks, including during the time of his “diagnosis”. After numerous tests,during which time I was taking his prescribed antibiotics, he resorted to a cystoscopy - and then gave up! After subjecting me to that procedure (which subsequently proved to be totally unnecessary), he could give me no better advice than to drink cranberry juice! And I was still suffering this recurring problem. Luckily a friend recommended a real specialist, (unfortunately now retired), who with one single consultation and purely from listening to my story, was very confident that I simply needed the correct medication; one that would actually reach and neutralise the infection. On the next occurrence of the UTI , just some weeks later, I took his prescribed antibiotic and the next time I had any problems was more than 4 years later! I do seem to be susceptible in some way,so I have not been “cured”, but whenever I do have an attack, it is promptly dealt with, thanks to those antibiotics and no thanks to Vaux!

We have had the pleasure of being treated by Dr Vaux for the last few years and until recently quite regularly. He displays a very professional attitude and is very informative and reassuring in helping deal with concerns. His office staff are very efficient and waiting times are pretty much on time. Definately recommend him if you need a urologist with exceptional experience.

My husband's appointment that he waited over a month for was not met by Dr Vaux. Instead he sat in the waiting room for an hour before having to leave to go back to work. Such a terrible lack of respect for patients.

Underwent endoscopic prostatectomy in 2005. At the time, I was 59, in excellent health, on no medication. Dr Vaux was quite clear that, aside from complications, the procedure (sort of boring through the enlarged prostate) should last a lifetime. I have known many men who have had the op, now in their 70's and 80's, and this seems to be true, as well as causing them no or little pain beyond a few days. Not for me -- bloody painful peeing for weeks after, can't pee straight, sprays everywhere -- have to sit -- embarrassing. Now, it has to be done again, as I pee slower than before the op. Maybe it's not the surgeon's fault, but with my experience, and his rating, I certainly won't be going back.

no attention to detail. no examination to assess real prostate condition. 5 minutes consult . waste of time and money

I was placed in his care in RNS and after 2 operation have sought another urologist. Vaux did not pay attention to what was happening, fell asleep during one consultation when I had traveled to his rooms from Tuggerah. One overnight op turned into 4 weeks hospitalization. Would never recommend him.

Not the most pleasant of characters but surgical outcome was good. Was not impressed to overhear him badmouth staff while waiting for surgery.
