Dr. D’Agostino goes well above and beyond. In 2010, he did what others would have deemed impossible. The patient had suffered a massive heart attack in July 2010. After 21 days in a coma, the patient was touch and go for another month when the time came to replace the severely damaged mitral valve. The heart muscle had also been so badly damaged the stitches had nothing to hold them, or the new valve, in place. Dr D’Agostino kept working, wedging the valve in place. After surgery, the heart still wouldn’t beat on its own, so a pacemaker/defibrilator was implanted. The patient was released from the hospital days later- a walking miracle and proof that Dr D saved a life. I fully believe that in anyone else’s hands, the patient would not have survived. Thank you, Dr D’Agostino.
