I had my surgery and ended up 6 months later with a life threatening Abscess that was caused by my gastric bypass I had to have a thoracotomy to remove scar tissue from the outer layer of my lung, major surgery to remove the abscess off my liver and all because he left tissue on my liver during my surgery. I would not recommend him to anyone due to all I have been through. I lost 2 months in the hospital out of my life and almost lost my life. Be cautious before making this decision to go with him.

Dr. Brown is wonderful! I am coming up on my 3rd year after RNY, maintaining a 120 lb wt loss. I loved his nurse, Allison (no longer with him), but Dawn has been very good with any problems. However, the front desk person has some PR to be desired. I would recommend Dr. Brown to anyone. My husband also had the same surgery 3 mos later and is doing fantastic!

I am maintaining a 150# weight loss, no complaints about the Dr or his ability. Getting into their Yahoo group takes several tries after several rejections. Being a patient of Dr. Browns is no guarantee you will get in the on line support group. I know someone else that tried to get in and quit after the first rejection. The support group is dominated by 2 old timers, good luck getting the chance to say anything in that group. The most bizzare converstaion I ever had with a health care professional was with an RD there. My wife also had this proceedure. Neither of us goes back for any kind of follow up or support. I understand that NOW this practice has finally added an office manager. This is good because now, if you are having a problem with staff there is someone that can advocate for you inside the practice. We continue to be dissapointed with the staff we have dissapeared from their radar schreen.
