Staff was robotic, 10 people before me 10 after me, first visit was 3 hours, is that on time, I was not told it would take that long. I was shuffled from one room to the next room to the next, each staff person going on and on in a monotone of info that they rattled off as fast as they could, remember there were 10 people behind me, final 2nd to last room woman rattled off a bunch of prices, it went 150 per eye all the way to 4,000 per eye which would I like. I chose the 250 per eye rate thinking that sounded safe. In walks the doctor who goes through yet another exam says nap you'll get the 150 per eye special. I was shuffled off to the last room where the surgical staff waited for me. I had been there 3 hours, confused, not a little nervous, with my eyes having been blinded in every rooms exam by the bright lights they shine into them directly. Doctor actually laugh at me when I was a bit annoyed by he got to me and said I was going to love his light set up. Anyway, surgical staff, bunch of questions, the usual, then they tried to take my BP. Their main wasn't working after the assembly line of patients before me so the staff tried to take it by hand, she pumped it up so much that that I had bruises the next day. I asked her why she was doing it that way and her response was everyone your age group has high BP in this range. Which is not medically correct at all. My chart got a big red sticker, me I was warned that if the day of my surgery if my BP was too high the Doctor will not operate. I said I would hope not, what see meant was my deposit would be for fit because I took up a surgical suite, which is upstairs in this doctors building. Now on to my deposit. I was offered mono vision option, one eye for far one for reading, no more glasses. That deposit due on the day of surgery would be 2,675.00. I don't know how we got from making an incision inserting a lens for far away at 150.00 to 1,340.00 apprx pardon my math. I maybe can understand there is an extra eye exam for reading lens but again how does this cost 1,340.00? My eye doctor charges me for an eye exam 250.00. All the time Doctor is telling me it will be 2, 675.00 he is telling us about his first class flight to Australia and his dive trips on the Great Barrier Reef for a month. I've read the he gave me back my sight grateful reviews, yes he did, that is his job, he did not walk on water people. He has 9 clinics, I wonder what trip those 21 people that day I was there financed, I only contributed 40.00, my min. for today's visit payment.

I have been treated by Dr. Befanis over the past two years, during which he did vitrectomies, repositioning of my implant lenses of both eyes. I am VERY happy with the results,80 years old and I see better and clearer than as a child!I had Mucular Degeneration in one eye which he treated, and I'm happy to say is stabilized. I have had eye surgery at Boston Eye and Ear and others and I would say he is the BEST eye surgeon i have ever had. I would recommend him to anyone needing his services. He is very curteous and considerate of his patients
