I’m alive because of Dr. Wills. He is hands down the most knowledgeable, honest, caring and professional human being I’ve dealt with.

I became totally disabled from a spinal cord injury and was in horrible pain. Dr. Wills brought me back to where I was able to return to work, enjoy my grandchildren, and be a productive member of society. He is a "maverick" in utilizing or developing new or complex procedures for those who have not responded to standard or routine protocols. He has treated me for over 12 yrs now and can still discuss details from office visits ten years ago. He has always responded to my calls. His practice has grown to fast, has lost some of the "personal touch", and takes longer to get responses to calls. I have discussed this with Dr. Wills and his staff. Recently I have noticed that they are doing better with appt times, call returns, and staff friendliness. I would highly recommend him if you are suffering from serious chronic pain

Dr. Robert P. Wills took me in when my pain was so desperately out of control that my life was a shambles. I had lost my job and military career and had been bedridden for three years due to injuries incurred in the line of duty to our nation. Dr. Wills took me in when others had rejected me, claiming virtually nothing could be done to improve my function or quality of life Dr. Wills began applying cutting-edge medical and surgical techniques that got me out of bed and back into the classroom. I was able to earn my MBA from one of Texas A&M University's schools. Dr. Wills never gave up on me and continues to apply the newest procedures designed to increase my vigor, happiness, and satisfaction. He is the ABSOLUTE BEST pain management doctor I have ever met, and I have both suffered and enjoyed many. If you live in Central Texas and suffer from pain, Dr. Wills at Austin Pain Associates is the man to see. Take my advice and avoid the suffering and payment to lessor pain physicians.

Dr. Wills has been my dr over 12 yrs now. I would highly recommend him to everyone. His heart is very big and just because their office is busy doesn't mean he doesn't care about his patients.

Stay away from this pain group. Staff communication is horrible, appointments are messed up and doctors/physicians assistants seem to constantly contradict each other. Absolutely mobbed with patients and phone calls take 2-3 days to be returned.

I started seeing Wills over 11 years ago and found him wonderful until the last 5 years. All he does now are procedures. I only saw him once every year and a half and a PA the rest of the time. For a long time, if you called at night with an emergency, the on call service said they were not allowed to call him. The final straw that made me fire him was I was in the ER with intractable vomiting and not keeping pain meds down so I was in pain and withdrawal and my ER doctor called him and he told the ER doc that I was a drug addict and not to treat me without even knowing what the situation was because he had not seen me nor kept up with my chart or current health problems. Also, you have to wait anywhere from an hour to 2 for your appointments, most of his staff is rude, and he has become that way too. I absolutely do not recommend him.

you will never see a doctor at Austin Pain Assoc - only a nurse practitioner who seem directed to push injections and follow procedure rather than actually care about the patient
