Biography

Teresa Shields-Szabo, MD, FAAFP, is a board-certified family medicine practitioner who sees older children and adults of all ages in Denver for preventive care, physicals, chronic care, acute illnesses and medication management. Dr. Shields-Szabo says her passion is to advance AdventHealth‘s mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ to her community and to promote physician-patient relationships in an evidence-based medical practice. Dr. Shields-Szabo earned her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and her bachelor’s in biology and chemistry from the University of South Alabama. She completed an internship and residency in family medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) and was chief resident in her fourth year. She also completed a clinical fellowship in family medicine and a family medicine faculty development fellowship at UNC-CH. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP). In her free time, Dr. Shields-Szabo likes to be outdoors, traveling and cooking and enjoys spending time with her family.
