He was new, it was 1990 and Cedars-Sinai said I needed my big toe amputated. I was 33, juvenile diabetic. Saw an ad for Wound Care Center or something and went. They had Dr. Releford do the debriding and although it took 6 months 3 times a week I am still a juvenile diabetic and still have all 10 toes and you can still feel all foot pulses. I understand he is in some legal trouble now but nothing to do with being the ONLY person to go to if you have a wound that won't heal. P.S. if you are a type 2 and fat be prepared for a lifestyle change talk. and he is precisely right.

Performed the wrong surgery on my foot and left the operating room prior to completing the surgery. Nurses had to hunt for him only to find he had left the building. Three surgeries later with a reputable doctor, I am able to walk with some limitation. Beware of this doctor. He has had multiple complaints and been brought up on charges with the Medical Board, Insurance Companies, and he does not have Medical Malpractice Insurance. Contact the CA Medical Board to request the documentation; whereupon, he amputated an elderly woman's leg instead of prescribing ointment for a lesion she had on her heel. I think Dr. Releford is a fine podiatrist who knows his specialty well. He specializes in diabetic limb salvage.
