Uses his nurse as a shield so he doesn't have to talk to patients.

He is great with my husband but speaks to me and my daughters very condescendingly. It wasn't always like this. He used to a wonderful listener and respected my opinions when it came to my body. I came to him in severe pain with kidney stones. I had the type that did not show up in the urine test or on a regular xray. He treated me like a druggy when I asked for pain medicine. I ended up in the ER a day or so later where they did a cat scan and saw the many large stones I had.
He really is very knowledgeable, and thorough. But i feel it very important to be believed by your Dr. Not discounted or laughed at.
He does not like the patient to presume to know more about their own body then he does. I have never left a Dr.s office so degraded.
I have disc issues and he will only fill my muscle relaxers for 10 pills. So. Do NOT go to Bradley Sawtelle if you are in pain, or a woman.

Hate the same day scheduling. I just end up going to the walk in clinic.

Yes we have to wait but I haven't noticed that it was any less of a wait in other offices. I have really appreciated the time he has spent with each of us and getting to know what the problems really are. He also has been very caring when there have been some sever situations involved. Very understanding and helpful. We have not had an issue with the same day scheduling and if we did we would just go to the clinic.

Fabulous Doctor! Very patient and actually listens and considers what you say. His nurse Marilyn is awesome too. The front desk personnel at the clinic are horrible!!!!

We've had Dr. Sawtelle as our family doctor for years. We feel like we really have a history with him and trust his medical knowledge and his personal investment in us as a family. We love Marilyn, too. What a great friend and caretaker! But I definitely agree that the same-day scheduling is for the birds. It feels like he's trying to discourage us from using his services. We just may have to find another doctor who is more available, as sad as that is.

Dr. Sawtelle has been our family doctor ever since Dr. Bagby retired. I respect his opinion and judgement for all our families medical needs. As mentioned in another post, his nurse, Marilyn, is a true gem. I also do not care for his same day scheduling, but he is worth it when you can get in to see him. The Blair Clinic also has a program that handles walk ins on an as needed basis, no appointment required. Since I have children, this can be a godsend. No more making an appointment and waiting, I just go in. It also makes trips to the emergency room a lot less for the accidents that normally happen, like falling off a bike. I will continue to see Dr. Sawtelle as long as I am in this area and he is still practicing.

When we first saw Dr. Sawtelle several years ago we thought he was an acceptible doctor. Now this "same day scheduling" that he has started is just about the worst idea I think they could have tried. Good luck trying to get an appointment. When you call right as the office opens he's all booked for the day. My family now goes to another doctor who is much better, very helpful, and can see of on the next day (without using any annoying "same day" program). Dr. Sawtelle, and the Blair Clinic in general, have become a major disappointment for me. In contrast, I have to say that his nurse, Marilyn, was one of the nicest best nurses for my children. They always looked forward to seeing her.

I agree with the previous review. It is impossible to get an appointment with Dr. Sawtelle. His "same day scheduling" is a joke. I can call right at 8, and his day is already full. How is that even possible?! I sure don't consider him "helpful" when it's impossible to even see him!
