Absolutely the best doctor we could have asked for our son. He is such an amazing human being and doctor. He is humble, friendly, kind, knowledgeable and caring. He remembers everything about our son and our family and makes us feel calm with his presence. He genuinely cares for our children and answers every question. He is open to new ideas and methods and supports us in what we ask for!

We've been seeing Dr. Dan for about 6 years and his care has been lifesaving! He goes way above and beyond. He has a gift to connect with and honour kids, while also caring and connecting with their parents. An absolute gem of a human being. I run a support group for parents and Dr. Dan's generosity in coming to speak with our group (several times!) - until every single last question has been answered thoroughly - is beyond compare.

Absolutely horrific experience. He ignored symptoms that my son was having, and I when I told him I wanted my son to be seen in person he said that due to covid we would have to be out in an isolation room for two days before anyone would see us and when I said fine we will do that he refused. I then asked for another doctor and he refused. I asked other parents who have recently taken their children to BC Children’s hospital and they were never asked to stay in an isolated room for two days. I feel like he completely ignored my concerns and refused to find someone to help me get help for my son.

There's no one I can recommend more than Dr. Metzger. Started working with him almost 6 years ago at BC Children's Hospital when I started struggling with gender dysphoria. Not only is he great at what he does, but he's also incredibly receptive to my suggestions, ideas, and thoughts. Started as an endocrinologist that I was scared to meet for the first time, and has turned into someone who teases me, jokes around, and cares for me as an uncle would. Amazing man and has made my whole medical transition seamless.
