I have been a patient of Dr. Townsend for the past 32 years. He is a remarkable doctor who is very thorough caring, efficient and knowledgeable. I have had many health issues over the cares and was able to recover and I believe it is a direct result due to the care I have received by Dr. Townsend.

I have been a longtime patient of Dr. Townsend. I am very fortunate. Dr. Townsend always makes time for me, treats me well and empowers me to make my own decisions about my health, giving me the information I need. My overall health is better from having him as my doctor. Granted, there are times at my worst that I took daily pills and weekly pills, and I questioned if this was the best solution for me. But in the end, it's my life and my health journey, and Dr. Townsend respects that and works with what he has. I like that he never gives up. If one thing doesn't work perfectly he finds something else to try. It is that scientific curiosity-based perspective which makes him an exceptional doctor, in my humble opinion. And yes, Marilyn is awesome; so much more than an office manager.

He has been my doctor for 30 years now. I remain very satisfied. He is knowlegable and compassionate. Contrary to other comments here, he has never needlessly pushed pills. on me. And Marilyn is a terrific secretary for him.

I was a patient of this individual for many years. When he started he was eager, caring, most everything you would want from a doctor. Sadly this is a compliment I would no longer offer this person, his personality and manner changed along the way into anything except what one would expect from a medical practitioner. Having said that if you are looking for a pill pusher who loves a click charge off your health card... he is your man.

Dr. Townsend killed my mother! He prescribed her barbiturates years ago knowing full well she would become addicted, also knowing full well the side effects it would have. Bleeding disorders, dementia.....when my father phoned him the day she passed, my father described Dr. Townsend as happy and that he sounded relieved?! He also, Dr. Townsend, mentioned that he did not know what he would do with the other few clients he had that were also hooked on this medication after he retires, excuse no other doctor would ever prescribe this and the amount that he does. My mother had many health issues, mobility being one, and he would only let her come to him with maximum two issues. And would never do house calls, or even phone calls to save her a trip, with her severe pains and ailments.! This man needs his liscence stripped and does not deserve the title Dr. Only if death follows it.

Dr. Philip Townsend is the most incompetent doctor I have ever met. When I had a car accident several years back, the airbag deployed and slammed my head back. I went to see him as I had an ongoing headache, and thought that I may have a concussion. I felt I needed an X-ray or CT in order to rule this out. His response was to give me enough Lorazapam(an addictive tranquilizer), to last for well over a month. I have eczema on my feet(caused by extremely dry skin.) They had gotten so severe in the past that my feet bled open, and became infected. I even experienced difficulty walking at one point. Dr. Townsend was convinced that this was caused by my feet getting wet. Luckily another doctor assured me that the best way to treat this condition is to soak my feet in warm water, prior to administering the Cortisone Cream, inorder to allow the medication to sink more deeply into the skin. I was thought to be anemic and repeatedly tested for this all my life by several doctors. Twenty five years ago I was diagnosis Gilberts Syndrome, a liver condition in which I produce an enormously abnormal amount of Billirubin. As a result my body does not absorb good fatty acids, leaving me with a secondary vitamin deficiency, which I discovered through the research I had done on this. To counteract this I take Essential Fatty acids. Although this has been significantly helpful, this condition still leaves me tired, and depleted, similar to Fibermyalgia or Cronic Fatigue. Dr. Townsend's response to my Gilbert Syndrome , which he obviously has no knowledge of, was to stop testing my levels of bilirubin, when sending me for blood work. I guess he figures that he can eliminate a problem by pretending it does not exist. Most concerning is that I am a severe asthmatic who is required to make atleast one winter trip to the hospital, per year, for my COPD. My Oxygen saturation during one of these visits had gone below 9.5, which demonstrated I was in trauma from not getting enough Oxygen. When I talked to this doctor about getting the Pneumonia shot he tried to convince me that this was not necessary. Recently when I expressed concern about what would happen if someone like me, at age 53, who was prone to chest infections and breathing difficulties were to contract Covid, he once again reiterated that there was no reason to take this matter seriously. I can just wait to get vaccinated with the rest of the healthy population. I can continue with more examples but suffice to say that it is difficult to believe that this doctor is still in practice. I wanted to warn others of Dr. Townsend's lack of understanding of medical conditions to dissuade other patients from seeking his help, and leaving those with severe health issues to be dismissed, and perhaps even end up harmed as a result.

I have been a patient of Dr. Townsend for over 29 years. He is an amazing doctor. He and his secretary Marilyn are always professional and accommodating. Very glad I found him when I came to canada 29 years ago. There was one appointment I had but the power was out of the building and Marilyn and Dr. Townsend were waiting for me outside. Words can't express how grateful I was. Dr. Townsend is the most empathetic doctor and caring for his patients is his top priority. I'm blessed to have him.

Been a patient of Dr. Townsend for over twenty years, he is the best family doctor ever. Never have to wait for your appointment, he takes his time and listens to all your concerns. His assistant Marilyn is phenomenal, I wish every doctors office had a Marilyn. Five out of Five definitely.
